The heat shrink release was such an eye opener to me man... thanks for sharing! Also, the outcome was great!
Glad you talked about the heat shrinking stuff, I was going to ask what the deal with the torch on the bottom.. now it makes sense. Great video!
Me 3, now I understand the "how come" you torching the underside of that plate.
For those that don't know its called controlled upsetting.
I'm an old fart who has fabricated a lot of stuff in the last 50 years, that "unwarping" the base by heating the weld from the bottom was pretty slick, thumbs up...
Great job Zach. Incredible workmanship and talent.
Excellent project! Every shop needs a post vise on a stand that can be dragged around. I liked the tool holder idea too! Great ending :)
The vise turned out great, Zach! That's really interesting how you did the heat shrinking on the bottom plate. It'll be good to see you again at Workbench Con in a few weeks!
Um! Great Build Zack! I have an old Post vise I need to do something similar too. Thanks for all the Good info. Glad ur coming out west and hope to see ya in the UK Bro.👍👍
Beautiful finished product. It was a pleasure to watch your video. I really want to begin learning all of the skills that you use in your shop.
Great that you are coming to Uk... I was considering going to Birmingham...but I’m definitely going now. Another great... inspiring video. Thanks man!
Love your Leg Zack!! the best ending yet!
Awesome refurb job, that turned out good!
Thanks for explaining torching the bottom. Nicely done.
A friend of mine sent this video to me and I’m glad he did. He knows that I’ve been thinking of a way to mount my leg vise and now I have an idea. Thanks for the video.
I had forgotten about all the Um's! 🤣 Looks bloody lovely! I hope you do make it to Birmingham, you'll love the event and there will be loads of people happy to see you there! 😊👍
Swapped several items with Andrew. He’s about 20 minutes from my shop. Crazy fkr but has TONS of cool stuff. Nice stand!
Beautiful finished project.
Just literally made one of these stands for the shop about 6 months ago :-) definitely worth the time investment...keep up the great work
Great stuff! I liked the sand infill. Can't wait to chat at WBC and MC!
Nicely done Zack! 👍🏻👊🏻
Awesome video brother! Thank you for the build
Very nice work and great video mate. Your shop setup looks awesome too.
A great build, I'm a blacksmith in Cleveland Ohio and I hope to see you at Spring Make.
I'll be there :)
Fantastic video. I really enjoyed it. Great build man
Love the build as always but I LOVE the umpilation!
Looks great! 👍👍👍👍 Love the warp tip
Came out so nice!!!! love the Color lol liked the umm blooper at the end
+1 on the tip about removing cupping by heating the backside!
Awesome as always... Been fun watching you grow shop.
Thank you!
Outstanding!! Will be doing something similar. Thank you for the ideas!
You made me smile. Thanks.
Wow! Ummm... You truly have some mad skills! Way to go man!
Thank you!
Nicely done. I like the color.
Ummmmmmm great stuff, keep it up! 😀👍
See you in the UK hopefully for Makers
YOU ARE A VERY TALENTED YOUNG MAN THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION SIR
Great job. Got a good working place.
Awesome video man
el tattoo de v8 . vamos argentina viejoo! saludos excelente laburo
People who present vids on you tube do a marvellous job. Dont worry too much about the ums and ahs. Ive tried to record just on my fone about simple stuff and I find it incredibly difficult to talk at all.
YTs. Try it yourself some time.
Keep up the good work.
Love your work, mate! Dan from Australia.
Thanks for this one, I had a lot of questions and they were all answered. Ah, ah, um um was great
always love your content
Beautiful Work!
Oh man! Fast and awesome!
Great video. Thank you. Just found your videos. Great to see someone who knows how to properly weld. Too many CZcams "fabricators" don't even clean the metal before welding it, and the welds are terrible. After four years of welding and metal fabrication school, over fifty years ago, I guess that I've become a bit "anal" about it. I've built a charcoal forge and am just finishing mounting a post vise that was given to me. I don't have too much room, so I'm looking at different ideas. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Awesome work
I thought when you traced the bottom with the torch it was pretty bad ass. Glad you came clean about not being the bad ass who thought that up. Great vid.
Great job like always, thank you.
brilliant execution!
I'm astonished. All your creations will last two hundred years, at least
Would be great to see you over in the UK at makers central!
We are really going to try and make it.. But we are also trying to move across the country here, so it all depends on how everything lines up time-wise.
Really great man!
look forward to shaking your hand at makers central mate safe trip
Ummm you made my wife smile - good luck on your move to Bellingham - try Lynden WA possibly for property - the old FrontStreet furniture store would be a cool place if not already taken- next to Syro’s where my Dirty SANTchez resides

gran trabajo eres un crack, un saludo 💪👍
Well, I guess its time to pull out my old leg vise and mount it.... Been carrying it around for 30 years now....
I can hardly wait for the informative um.... talk, yeah, talk.... *snark-off*
LOL... that ending was hilarious... I have the exact same problem... I feel like cutting out all my "Um's" takes longer than editing the actual build... LOL
Awesome video.
UMMM...Great Video Zach!!
Muy buen trabajo con el soporte del tornillo. Saludos.
nice one Zach.
Awesome post vise and stand! Can't wait for Maker Central, that is going to be a blast! One note ... the um's compilation needs to be auto tuned into something. Cheers!!
Hah, that's brilliant! I hope someone out there can make that happen :)
Dude. I can’t tell you how great that build was. Heating up the back side was a great idea!!! Then the round pipe you started with was a great idea too along with the weld bead appeal, and I was saying to myself don’t grind it down man ha ha ha because you do sometimes but that bead looked good. Great build. Idaho has tons of places to live. Give it a try......just sayin.
Thanks, I grew up in N. Idaho :)
Ya so come on back!!!! Could use more talent like you here and if you’d be willing to teach a couple basics of black smithing and wood work that’d be cool
The matching shirt at 7:17 rounds this off nicely.
My favorite colors :)
great job👍🍀
Another good build! Thank you for putting it together.
Two questions: What is the solution you used to burn off the coating on the bolts?
What is your vertical band saw setup? It looks like a porta-band with a table.
Can't wait to have you in the PNW!
Very good joob ,im maker of Spain, greating
You just happen to be wearing a black and green plaid shirt 😉👍🏼👌🏼
@ 4:04 you heated the areas where you welded, was that to relax the metal and take out the wobble? Guess I should have made it all the way through the video because you answered it.
Parabéns pelos trabalhos excelentes.
Outstanding 👌 I was going to ask what you were doing on the under side of the base but you had that covered. Uhm LOL
Good job!
Sweet video dude!
The um outtakes were cool. lol
Ummm
Nice work
Awesome video
Uuummm!!! I loved it,um good luck!
Um um um this was a great video Zach.
I was gonna ask why you heated the base.👍 Good luck with the house and workshop hunt. When I film myself speaking I have to remove a lot of dead air a ums also. 😁
Nice future proofing design. For a while there I thought you were making a cup holder. : )
Nice video dude. Umm nice editing too, um that must of um, took a long time! : )
Hah! Thanks
Um... that is fantastic!!
Ummm. I completely understand. There is a group called Toast Masters that can give you technical redirection. So that’s not an issue. Great pointer on repairing the wobble.
Dope dude 😈😈
Хорошая работа! =)
Props for maintaining pitch on sped up audio
Man, those Swag tables are getting popular.
Damn you sure didn't want it to move anywhere huh? LOL
Enjoyed the video and gave it a Thumbs Up
Thanks!
Miss your work. Hope all is well. Best wishes!
i almost done building one myself with an old truck rim for a base. Now im embarrassed after watching yours,,,,thanks alot dude lol
Hah! I've seen a few of those around, I'm sure it'll work great!
Looks like you have your next tune for ampletunes sorted, the ummm song.
Thanks for that. I learned some things.
it is simply but very cute
Well done I like
Thanks for the video. You probably paid a ton for that post vise. That guy is so expensive.
Love your work. What solution were you putting the conduit fitting and nuts into to take off the finish?
Muriatic acid
Haha! NVM. Finished the whole video, thanks just the same, keep it up!!
Great video!! What's the can for though??
OK- so 18 months out- Sorry Im late to the party- cool video- was browsing to get ideas for my leg vise stand. How about a follow up interview with this stand after 18 months- how has the tray and clip system held up? And... whats the little can for? As always- awesome work!
um.. AWESOME
Ummm, nice work!
Beautiful! Did you finished your truck?
