Honestly, the CATS movie should've been a cartoon. Not just an animated film, but a CARTOON that takes advantage of the over-the-top nature of the original show.
Unfortunately that won't happen because the only wish T.S Eliot(the author of the original poems) to the director before letting him make a musical based on his book was that it wont be a cartoon with pussycats. And well it would be grate to see an animation based on Cats I think staying respectful to authors wishes is more important

ok so this went from "cats character redesigns that happens to be in sonic's artstyle" to "cats sonic crossover au" but tbh the story seems kinda intriguing so maybe add a bit more to it in the next redesigns!
I feel like if Courtney's designs were in a movie, it would mostly follow the original Cats musical plot, but add Sonic elements. Like Old Deuteronomy's job would be to guard the phantom ruby and Macavity would kidnap him in order to steal it.

I really love the magical boy angle for Mr.Mistofflees/Quaxo tho i am sad u didn't incorperate the rainbow on the tuxedo jacket like in the play but otherwise all of these are really really great! Your version of RumTumTugger is also spot on I really love it, you did a fantastic job.

I already believed that they should have used Animation for the Cats movie adaptation since anthropomorphic Characters always seem to work best in that medium so seeing a video like this is definitely what I’d like to see. Although, seeing all these characters in a Sonic Style makes me wonder how preexisting Sonic cats like Blaze, Big and Honey would fit into the Jellicle Cats.
I saw Cats for the first time on VHS when I was in second grade. I was actually terrified of Mccavity, especially when he started kidnapping children (that's a detail they left out of the movie)
I genuinely liked this video. It was fun learning about these characters, since I never got around to seeing the original musical and everyone's reactions to the trailer made me not want to see the movie. But thanks to this, it makes me want to watch the musical more now. So I would love to see another video on this.
I was really pleasantly surprised to see this pop up in my notifs!! I've been kinda lowkey into CATS lately, so seeing you draw some of the characters was really great!! honestly with my 20/20 vision and watching this in the cinema it was bearable, the major problem is that the silhouette is too human. the leader cat is not that bad, from behind she actually looks like a cat but others need more fur

Macavity and Mephistopheles play well against each other. It feels like the difference between night and day, seeing the two forms of magic contrasting in design. And it half looks like it as well. Good designs all around, of course... I'd love to see more.
These redesigns are leagues better than what the movie offered, and I personally would LOVE to see more! It's always amazing seeing people work on something they're passionate about and it's clear you have a lot of love for these characters, and I'd be intrigued to see your other ideas pertaining to them!

As a child the Cats Musical was my favorite! I remember going to the theater and seeing it live for the first time in 2nd grade. Heck, I got into trouble for moving to the front row away from my class just so I could get a better view. One of the leads even gave me the ears off her head as a gift since I generally was loosing my crap about the show. When I saw they announced the movie I was stoked, then the trailer got leaked. Lets just say I was pitch forks and torches level angry with the company. Thank you for actually doing this musical justice!
This is amazing Courtney! This is truly beautiful! You are really talented. Thank you for bringing two of my favorite things, Sonic and musicals, and bringing me towards exploring the Cats musical. Cats is now my favorite musical! Also, Skimbleshanks is truly an underrated character! He is my favorite character in the musical.

I already believed that they should have used Animation for the Cats movie adaptation since anthropomorphic Characters always seem to work best in that medium so seeing a video like this is definitely what I’d like to see. Although, seeing all these characters in a Sonic Style makes me wonder how preexisting Sonic cats like Blaze, Big and Honey would fit into the Jellicle Cats.
And the question is would they go to the Jellical Ball or not? I mean, all of them are busy in their own ways but, if given the chance, would they go?

I saw Cats for the first time on VHS when I was in second grade. I was actually terrified of Mccavity, especially when he started kidnapping children (that's a detail they left out of the movie)
I genuinely liked this video. It was fun learning about these characters, since I never got around to seeing the original musical and everyone's reactions to the trailer made me not want to see the movie. But thanks to this, it makes me want to watch the musical more now. So I would love to see another video on this.

your designs are waaaay so much better and shows the real aspects of the characters their true nature shines through with perfect balance this is a huge triumph the movie producers should have hired you to do the animation and styles period it would have been a mega blockbuster then yours is just staticool just fits like a glove hugs this is bonzariffic m8.

As a child the Cats Musical was my favorite! I remember going to the theater and seeing it live for the first time in 2nd grade. Heck, I got into trouble for moving to the front row away from my class just so I could get a better view. One of the leads even gave me the ears off her head as a gift since I generally was loosing my crap about the show. When I saw they announced the movie I was stoked, then the trailer got leaked. Lets just say I was pitch forks and torches level angry with the company. Thank you for actually doing this musical justice!

This is amazing Courtney! This is truly beautiful! You are really talented. Thank you for bringing two of my favorite things, Sonic and musicals, and bringing me towards exploring the Cats musical. Cats is now my favorite musical! Also, Skimbleshanks is truly an underrated character! He is my favorite character in the musical.
