Why did you link it since youtube deleted it?
Roberto, I truly believe that CZcams is making this move looking for alignment to Reels and TikTok - that is, to make sure people spend as much time in the Shorts feed as possible. If illegitimate links were really such a major problem, they would have been removed across the board. It doesn’t make any sense to remove them only from vertical videos and penalize creators who have been focusing on the video format that coincidentally has been pushed the most by CZcams itself! 😕
This is most likely the case. This is also why despite the Gold Rush to Shorts I prioritize long form and live streaming.

Not only that but they are REPLACING our affiliate links with their own. I use a ton of Amazon links in my shorts. CZcams combatted that by creating an affiliate market place that only uses stores that give kickbacks to CZcams. They are taking a piece of the pie.

I think creators really need to get together & the petition or individually, on a mass scale, bug CZcams about fixing the issue themselves when making a change like this. Instead of having creators manually change past videos, CZcams either needs to create a bulk change tool or do something on the backend themselves.
I don’t know that any type of “collective bargaining” approach will work with the platform if I’m being honest.
And creators won’t boycott and can’t afford to and it won’t work since people will just watch whatever.
So unless there is advertiser pressure there is no leverage
@@RobertoBlake that's a fair point. CZcams has a lot of power in this situation because people are so dependent on the platform. It would take a lot of sacrifice on the creator and user end of the equation to produce the pressure needed.

I just crossed 1000 subs on my channel and while I know some may think that’s no big deal, to me and my crew it’s EVERYTHING! Thank you for everything you do. This is huge news that will affect everyone whether it's podcasters, businesses, creators with brand deals etc. Like you said, email list is THE solution.

They would remove links from standard videos if they could, they don't want you leaving. They want you passively trapped in an endless dopamine loop. They are testing the waters, Shorts is still "new" and change is expected. When they find a way to nerf your links in standard videos without too much backlash, they'll do it. or they put a super-high minimum sub count to allow links.
I prefer the past vision of the future, the real future sucks 😊
I am not a Shorts creator, but I believe CZcams could have dealt with the fraud issue in a way without greatly inconveniencing the creators. 🤕 CZcams could have simply deleted spam accounts or accounts acting abnormal. 👾 They have the technical expertise, but refuse to use it in a beneficial way, and would rather just hurt good people and bad actors simultaneously. 💀 Could have been a lot worse though. 😐 At least the regular videos are left alone. 😶
thats sucks for people trying to build a shorts base afiliate business, they do not pay shorts creator well it's horrible to do that.
They don't even pay long form creators well. Shorts and affiliate links were the only way we started to make any money. We could make short quick videos showcasing how we used various outdoors products and have link in comments. CZcams killed our niche. Outdoor creators have poor CPMs and so affiliate links are the only way we make serious money to scale up. Other social media platforms are looking way more appealing now. @@CalvinMcDonald13
They can't do that. There are too many fake accounts and bots being created non stop. It's the final solution.
Why not just allow people that are making Adsense be allowed to add links?
Oh, wow, that's amazing. I found it quite odd when I created a new CZcams channel and tried to add a link in a regular video. CZcams actually asked me to provide my Government ID or film my face with my camera, so they could verify my identity. It's a real shame that some folks are spamming so much that it's leading to this kind of regulation. As always, thanks for sharing this information on your channel.
Links have already been taken off my banner. its been moved the my youtube bio information. i feel like they should have left links in the description. on a creator can add links there, and it have nothing to do with spam

Many of the CZcams channels you watch will cease to exist if they expand this change to long form videos. This change will discourage many creators from even making videos

I think it will be better for views, I think it hurts brand deals and affiliate marketing a bit for shorts but for long form creator it’s all fine
wow this is crazy. alot of ppl used shorts to link to their site or blog. esp food content creators. i think this is more about trying to keep all content on CZcams. kinda like how on IG you can't link in the comments or description

Since not everyone will view more of the description but they all can see that banner (not sure if that will be viewable from individual videos too, but still) I intend to include all current links (Twitter, website, etc) but also playlists that I often include in the description, and maybe my alt channel too. Or on the alt channel, include my main channel. I will still include my ,inks in the shorts descriptions, even if they are not clickable. If someone clicked to see that, they can still copy and paste it.

You can Still do shorts with long form video and have that link to long form video that will be thing it coming in end of September so you click the title in short and it will take you to the long form video .
That’s why yesterday, I opened my first Rumble account. I can’t stand those unfair changes that happen here on CZcams and we can’t do anything about those changes. Even though Susan is no longer a CEO.
Thank you for the update Roberto. I would like for you to do a deep dive into community tabs. I never really understood what its about and never really looked into it, however I do see some creators using the feature.

It seems pretty reasonable considering the chance for scam links when the actual link text isn't shown. The click-able new profile link on desktop is great. That should help creators get a bit more traffic to those links. This is how I noticed changes coming and look around for more info.
Being able to link a full video from a Short will be a welcome feature. Looking forward to that. I already make long form horizontal videos where the Short is a cut or with a bit more content added.
Though, I find it odd they can't still include some Shorts links by having it fully shown. Seems a bit heavy handed and more of an interface design issue.
The new internal product linking feature has a 25k subscribers requirement, which I don't think I'd reach for a long time. It look me 11 years to get to 10k, so hopefully they eventually lower that requirement. I think a lot of product review content doesn't naturally mesh well with the idea of people subscribing because a lot of the time people come from search and only want that one thing.
TY many times over for sharing this info!! 🔥I've made use of the prominent links in the bio and added my linktree to keep things clean and easy. Now I can just say "links in bio" in the description and comments of my shorts.
Hearing this I was a bit concerned, especially the removal our own links on our profile. I get the links in comments and descriptions cause a lot of us don’t read the descriptions but I can see why CZcams did this. But as always us creators will adapt to this change.

Sure, typical US, censorship disguised as "better user experience". If I cannot link to my website, which is my real source of money, I do not see why would I create a short .
Censorship doesn't exist on private platform, it's CZcamss house they can keep or throw-out whatever they like. They should have thrown me out a long time ago.

Thanks for this important news from CZcams. This is a big change! I am interested in the use of the CZcams community tab.
CZcams affiliate shop program is totally crap...the products are not interesting to my viewers! CZcams needs to bring back clickable links in order to keep diverse content creators on the platform...PERIOD. Affiliate links via videos was the only way many of us outdoors niche creators made any money. I'm starting to increase posts to other social media platforms. Might stop content on CZcams all together if this is how they plan to treat creators. THEY HAD other alternatives. They could have implemented link reporting tools or Ai reported link learning tools to blacklist links. They instead wanted to ban links from shorts to keep users on the platform. It had nothing to do with safety. They are full of BS. I dedicated most of my life to CZcams as a career. I feel shit on.
Sometimes it's difficult to redirect audience/community to links in bio style it's like an extra step vs simply checking the description box many are familiar with the description box it's more convenient, this new change is not great news for shorts creators but there's isn't much to do about it but try to adapt and or lean more into longer content which hasn't gone great for some of us so far, sigh! oh well perhaps this is a sign from the universe to work on my longer content skills I dunno, but thanks for sharing more info ☮️❤

@CZcams *you need to bring back links in Shorts. Been on platform since 2013. My viewers hate this shorts policy because they can't find products in my videos.* Not to mention I now instantly make no money which is total BS. I feel cheated and my viewers are being cheated by this policy. CZcams is nothing without content creators and channels in my genre get paid poorly via Adsense....so affiliate links are our primary means of income! CZcams just didn't want people leaving CZcams to go to links. It wasn't done for safety. CZcams could have implemented link reporting and ai - algorithm link learning to reduce spam.
I appreciate the news here. It's nice to know I can't even link to my website in my banner.

You can still have clickable link but it live in profile section near the subscribe button now but you can have 14 clickable link in there to.

This is tricky for those channels that are medical or in Healthcare. We have to include links to our sources of information if we are talking stats, research, etc. Plus, educational videos are often attractive because of the education outside of youtube via links.

I'm on the fence with this. On one hand, some channels thrive on shorts alone and don't want to make or can't make long form content, so count on the links in the descriptions. BUT, on the other hand, personally, when I'm scrolling through shorts, It's just watch, scroll, watch, scroll. I'm never stopping to read descriptions. Mostly only comments if I want to. On mobile, you have to hold down to read the description, so....anh, idk. I feel it's a bad change for those who focus on primarily shorts, but for viewers and those who don't primarily focus on shorts, it's not terrible. In the end, I'd prefer it not happen, but....again, I don't know. I have no say
Edit: I made it to the part with the removal of banner links....again, I'd prefer it not happen, but I kind of get why, with scam links. I mean, you can still put links in your about section and long form video descriptions...also, you can just put your social handles or websites on the banner itself. I know many do that.

I don't understand why more people don't put their domain link printed on the video, like infomercials put the phone number & web address. People watch on streaming devices on TV. They are not going to the description in that format. You need your on website.
according to the updated faqs on youtube they are watching those links too so be careful with that. i just sat here and read up for like a hour ... its wild...

My channel just got the “link in bio” style links if anyone wants to see what it looks like. I liked the links in shorts comments as I forwarded to the long form version of the video. Plus I thought the “automatically block links” channel setting would already block viewer links in shorts comments 🤔
It's just like the "hide likes and dislikes" option. They don't care, they just want to ruin youtube.

Great. So youtube finally convinces me to stop ignoring shorts, and I find it drives traffic to my longer videos, so of course, they're gonna pull it out from under me.
Edit: I didn't finish the video before commenting and didn't realize the video was 4 months old. Was searching for info because now they removed the ability to create shorts right form my videos on the app.

Great Video! I have a question. Is it possible to link to a long form video from another channel in your Shorts? For example when you have a Shorts Channel and a Long form channel, so that you can link from the Shorts Channel to the Long Form channel.

Thanks for sharing. I don't use site for finance but rather research mainly but was going to start posting video content with drones to draw people to my social network and then my banner links disappeared like a bad omen. So, it's happening now. This site is a service, so you don't like the changes just go elsewhere. I'm sure those who regulate site after changes in laws concerning user-based content needs more regulation, so they aren't sued for terrorists using them have something to do with it.
This is certainly not good news. I will have to find another way, thanks for the tips.

Why would youtube do this when they are trying to build shorts to compete with tik tok. We started adding weekly shorts videos this year and some of them really took off, but im not sure if it will be worth the effort if we cant use affiliate links anymore. Larry

If CZcams is creating barriers for viewers to click on links, do you think this disincentivizes companies to pay more for brand deals? Shorts creators are already getting a worse deal. I wonder how bad this will be for some smaller creators looking to go full time (especially if the product doesn't qualify for youTube Shopping).
I think it's possible. I know that this is definitely going to hurt some people's business model for sure.
