    Like someone else said, if you get any really nasty comments, it's probably not real ARMY. The people trying to make ARMY look bad are devious. I've seen them in action more than a few times and they do some pretty underhanded things. But if there were any actual ARMY who got angry over your interpretation of Ugh! that would be pretty ironic given the meaning of the song. I enjoyed both of your reactions to it. You always put a lot of thought into your reactions and I appreciate that. 😊

    Just one advice... Be really aware of cosplayers with hateful comments in order to portray ARMY as a toxic fandom, they do that under all YT reactors to BTS and on all social medias... I saw your UGH video and there was nothing wrong, you were just wondering and respectful as always... Don't pay attention to nonsense comments, most of the time they are ARMy undercover and not real ARMY.

    I'm not sure if you understood clearly the part about the bad year for k-pop but it refers to sulli, jonghyun and some other famous artists' suicides. you can check out eight by IU. this track was produced by suga and it is basically about loosing some person. sulli and jonghyun were close friends of IU so I guess it was a really taugh year for her.
    I absolutely love this song. not my type of music as I'm metalhead personally, but I appreciate its meaning and just vibe. suga made a great work on it.

    • @MariaChavez-ey5sr
      @MariaChavez-ey5sr Před 2 lety +9

      Your reaction was great to Ugh. Eight is amazing and it says so much that IU wanted to make a song with these ideas for her 28ty birthday and could have picked anyone in the world to work with but Suga (who was also 28) was the perfect person. He really produced such a beautiful song with her and his feature in it is perfect. It’s horrible how many idols but also students who are pushed by hate don’t see any other way out and yes we should be using online hate for better uses than hurting people.

    Your ugh vid was good, and your take was fine. It's always good to get the Korean context and cultural/historical references for deeper understanding too, but there is nothing wrong with different interpretations of something as subjective as music. People shouldn't expect people from other cultures to instantly catch every nuance in a S Korean song. The fact that you have the interest and take the time delve deeper after your initial watch speaks for itself.

  • @sylvari
    @sylvari Před 2 lety +3

    The irony of getting the most hate comments about a video taking that kind of useless hate to task is unreal. No need to apologize for how you see and interpret the lyrics of any song. Art, in all it's forms is subjective. The idea is to move people but no one gets to choose how it moves you. Even if the way you see a song isn't the way I see a song, your thoughtful, quiet analysis never fails to impress and sometimes you help me see a song in a different way. Thank you

I hope you take the second part seriously, and ignore comments that come from out of nowhere or no evidence you recognize. People have different timing to learn what is respect and how to be respected. Let them take their time and I hope you don't waste your valuable time and emotion on something not worthy. You have trust worthy people who would share their thoughts with you. You've said already many times that it's your opinion and interpretations that may not be different from others. You do react with how you feel and how you could interpret lyrics based on what's shown with a great intention to understand further. Please don't be disappointed with malicious comments, real Army enjoy tour own joy with each discovery you do with about favourites themes of BTS. We know there are mistakes in the beginning to know BTS, there isn't a single person who didn't confuse them or their names or the meaning of a song, searching the meaning is what make us fans, eventually Armys.

    After watching the explanation, I am feeling proud again. BTS is soooo intelligent, and they use their wisdom for greater cause. I haven't seen more "human" humans than these guys.
    Also I wanna say the same to haters on social media like Instagram, that if they used their anger for those who are causing harm to the society, wouldn't that be much much better than trying to hurt someone's sentiments, when you know nothing about what it feels like to be in their shoes.
    And the weight of the line "fake anger kills real people"... It suddenly hits so hard when I see people are ao insensitive to "anger" that they do not take responsibility of hurting others.
    Songs like Ugh make me want to ask everyone to listen to BTS. There's so much to learn from them in every aspect of life. And it doesn't ever feel extra, because all 7 of them are so relatable and down to earth.
    I'm proud of them 💜

Being around someone who is angry about every little thing takes its toll as well. A negative comment in this particular song, it is indid a sign that those people aren't ARMYs. As a 48 years old, this culture of hate is quite new to me. As in my twenties if you didn't like a group you simply didn't watch it.
    So I just discovering it with BTS, it is unbelievable what dirty tricks they use to demotivate reactors and the band itself.
    This song is all about that, people starting a fire from nothing at all. So I guarantee you those are haters not ARMYs. The worse kind of haters if you allow me to categorised the bad into worse. Thanks to those kind of haters some people perceive ARMY as overprotective and intolerance with whoever doesn't like BTS. While it is quite the opposite. So many times I saw arguments of ARMYs vs haters, being really nice and respectful while the hater was really abusive and bad language.

So don't worry about people disagreeing on things, just read their point of views get different insights and opinions and ignore the undertone...I mean it's in writing after all you can read the comment in whatever emotion you want. ARMY let's pick our battles, I beg! Another thing though, there are some people that for certain reasons can't get jokes, no matter how smart they are, it's got to do with how our brains are wired. Learned this the hard way since I was one of the many ppl thinking: can't get this is a joke?? Well some ppl can't get certain jokes for specific reasons that has nothing to do with intelligence nor logic so I won't come for them on that part, cause maybe those ppl leaving comments can't get the joke even if they wanted it, it escapes their will. Interesting what you said, I always look at comments after video, before writing my own, if it is about some info I look if someone said it already bc I don't want repeat, etc, and I don't usually see anything that bad here, but I'm usually quiet early, and there is less then 10 or 20 comments. So maybe I don't see it.
    Hmm honestly in your Ugh video I don't remember anything worth of "bad" comment even with some delulu people, hmm, like what you think song is about it is up to you, there is not really wrong or bad way, and you were close to get meaning.
    I could only dmsay that you were super Hobi fanboy in this video, but it happens, Hobi is cool, but like still nothing to be agnist. You didn't get Suga verse but I think it is harded to get at first, but Hobi you get, RM almost so yeah hmm.
    And it is not that all this explenation videos are anything different then theories - "What I think it is about", sure they have more knowlage and know language and some context is maybe better seen by them bc environment they life, but still this are not something that band said but what people deducted from lyrics, word play, double meaning, videos and maybe some interviews. For sure they are great, they help a lot in understanding, see another side or more meanings, but they are not law. We for sure feel like they usually hit nail on head with explenation, but aside from translation korean and explaninig some words or meaning behind them, rest it is also their interpretation. We can't say that it is 100% what band wanted to say, but yeah it simply seems right so yeah.
    That what I think about all this talking about meaning of song, it is still open ans can have different sides.

    I don't think you were wrong in your interoretation. It was not all the nuances but tgey were also talking about malicious anger in general. Expanding on the meaning is not against the meaning of tge song. Ppl saying to you, you were wrong does not make sense at all. Especially since art is there to be interpreted and experienced in diffeent ways. The fact that you can apply it to a situation u suffer from and can rekate, therefore the song helping u cope with your anger is smth good. If a piece of art would only be made and understood by a selective group of ppl it would be sad for others that can't relate. Yet bts members constantly say they wanna reach an audience all over tge world. I think bts would very much encoueage us to make our own interpretation even if we couldn't rekate at all with the og inspo/meaning.
