  • Immunoassays Simply Explained
    What are immunoassays? How do they work? And what are they used for! These are the things you will learn today so stick around!
    Hi guys! My name is Lucas and I study Biotechnology at University level here in Finland. I create weekly content on topics that relate to Biotechnology!
    Today we will have a look at immunoassays. An immunoassay is a procedure for detecting or measuring specific proteins or other substances through their properties as antigens or antibodies.
    I will also show a practical example of how an immunoassay can work in practice in the form of an ELISA!
    If you have any questions or suggestions on videos for the future, please leave them in the comments!

    Is it necessary that analyte have to be proteineous in nature, mostly we see that from antibody antigen is attached specificly, how can a drug which is not protein in nature detect with immunoassay technique

    I didn't understand whats the purpose of second antibody? If one is there and the analytes has bound to them?

    • @biotechlucas4126
      @biotechlucas4126  Před 2 lety +1

      Great question! First antibody makes what we are looking for "stay" in place.
      The second antibody has been attached to something that allows us to measure a signal before hand. In other words it allows us to measure how much of what we are looking for got "stuck" in place.
      Please let me know if that helped😇
