So in regards to the story, Uncle was left to watch over the place after Abigail and Jack were taken by the government and John had to leave. As we can see he didn’t watch over anything since the ranch is a mess and has no one around if you go visit it. That means Uncle slapped some pieces of wood over the windows of the house and decided to fuck off until John got his family back and dealt with their former gang members. Based off what we see from Uncle in RDR2 the idea that he just left to go drink somewhere until the others returned is 100% believable

There is a glitch where if you go to the tall trees area near macfarlane's ranch if you get arrested there you can spawn at the blackwater jail

Also, before you do this, you’ll want to complete the mission “This is Armadillo USA” to unlock the stagecoaches, if you dont, you can’t get back to New Austin.
Man sometimes the ambient soundtrack in this game its very creepy
Thats what made this game so good, always had that spaghetti western theme which I know people say that alot, but they nailed that feeling with the first one alot better than the second.
I memorize the instruments, the rhythm, and tune it ain't scary no more 😔

@@Sto_nedt rdr 2 music is better in regards to that it nails the the overall world of arthur morgan. idk if that makes sense but the music like fits so perfectly with the depressing themes of the game.
@@acewop3506 I agree with you, everytime I rode around in the epilogue I always heard sad and depressing music that I thought went along with the ending.

I remember playing RDR1 for the first time, and using cheats to get to West Elizabeth. Had a look at Beecher's Hope and wondered what the purpose of it was - I was quite surprised later on when it turned out to be John's house.
Same! I felt it was so random until I found out it was their home; I always thought they lived off the map and John was brought there to look for the targets

No, Beecher's Hope is fully intact but all the doors are locked.
The house isnt boarded up in multiplayer.

Honestly I feel like the reason John can’t swim is purely so he couldn’t go to west Elizabeth but they had to carry that to rdr2

Look at the horse's front hooves on the track. There between the boards and the horse has not fallen through.
There was also a glitch back in the day where you can set up a camp near some river, and if you did it correctly and close enough to the water you would spawn across the river giving you access to West Elizabeth. I would do it for the black steed with the max stats and also would farm bear pelts for money. Good times
I visited the house midway through the game
I wondered why it looked like this. I assumed it was a break in and his family was forcibly taken but then later in the story the house is in good shape.
My headcanon is this how the house looks like after the passing of John and Abigail. Jack was properly unable to take care if it and fell into ruins.
It’s weird how they didn’t take Uncle with Abigail and Jack. He was still an active member of the gang before its collapse and even engaged with Cornwall’s men in RD2.

There’s some good evidence this will be ported to pc soon- while the price might be a bit much, we’ll finally get to mod this masterpiece, and remaster it ourselves.

Could you look at the tomb underneath escalera from undead nightmare?
I played RDR1 for the first time last year, found I could get here before taking care of the gang members, and was so confused and sad to see it like that, especially when it springs back to life by the time you officially return. Presumably this was a placeholder (someone in the comments here suggested it might be supposed to look like this years later when Jack was the only one left) and limitations prevented them from making some kind of Uncle "get back to your mission, John" content and they assumed/hoped most players won't see it like this.
Well that's what happens when you make a guy with terminal lumbago look after an entire ranch
What is the point of having it boarded up if it is not supposed to be seen that way?
Maybe the full map was open at some point indev
You can still visit it in the west Elizabeth chapter before John is based there
Cause you can still go to Beecher’s Hope before killing Dutch and freeing John’s family. So it wouldn’t make sense story wise to have the ranch looking as it usually would if no one is living there

It is one of the cheat codes in the game. This allows you to play as Jack at the beginning of the game. You need to enter that phrase in the menu.
Are you playing on pc emulating the game and with a free camera tool or is it an legit xbox version with some kind of tool for the free camera? It picked my curiosity
