We need another epicenter of irevererance and creativity like New York, another punk movement, but I'm not seeing any anger towards the mainstream to make commercial pop burst, and this has me concerned
To think, the last gasp of skyrocket architecture came about by 1973 with the completion of the original World Trade Center. The jubilant 60's attitude of can-do optimism was met with 70's f**k-all reality as the racial divides and economic crisis came to a head by 1973. Don't forget, recent history has taught us that HIV/AIDS was coming from the sexualized generations of post-WWII kids becoming adults. Sex, drugs, rock and roll? Hell yeah, '73 encapsulated all those attitudes. But man, did NYC pay a heavy price for that in the years to come...
