Eternally grateful for this extra effort, and thank you for the very thought provoking insight into Lebanese politics.

  • @randafarhat7635
    @randafarhat7635 Před 3 lety +33

Great episode as a whole ,but...
Some things just don’t add up .
He talks about cooperation with traditional parties as political realism as opposed to revolutionary purity . Dealing with them peice by peice
This is exactly how all the parties who are supposed to be in “the opposition “ have been dealing with hizballa for the past 15 years . This is what the progressive party partisans are marketing now . They call it . And how did that work for us so far ?????
He says you only need 10 deputies to be able to pass a law . Gea3ga3 and jumblate have almost 20 between them , why don’t they start now if they are احزاب تغييرية as mentioned? They were not able to absente themselves from the Diab trust session. Not even resign after the explosion. . How do you as 17 October work with these people?
It just doesn’t add up .
The notion of العداء المطلق to hizballa as the main cause is absurd and it is actually what the gulf countries where Nadim is happy to raise his kids (I am so happy for him by the way ) advocate. Fact remains they all knew what they were doing when they threw us to the wolves to get back at Iran even though they all know more than half of the Lebanese people are against Iran .
All the parties say that they are not corrupted and the weapons are the main problem. Just to exonerate themselves
Hizballa is a big part of h the problem but not the only problem.and it is the main problem bec their mobs and weapons is what kept these people in place after 17 October and we all know that .
I don’t think 17 October revolution should even have candidates for the partial coming elections.
We declared them all corrupted illegitimate and unfit . So why would you want to work next to them ?
With all due respect to Nadim , I think our generation has no business telling your generation what to do .
Nadim is an independent Shiites (sorry I had to use this term ) but he’s not an independent journalist. For a long time he has been affiliated with hariri and we all respected his opposition voice all that time he as in Lebanese media .
One more thing mouin . Please don’t put all your hopes on the coming elections. It’s only a step . Of so many . Needed to undo what has been done the last 30 years .
I have left Lebanon to live outside in 1992. But not one day has passed without me trying to do what I can to try doing better for Lebanon.
I am not against leaving Lebanon. I am against Lebanese who left Lebanon and are still lobbying and sustaining their respective sectarian parties instead of lobbying for Lebanon. 50% didn’t even vote in the last elections. They will this time. If they trust you . As groups , as individuals and as citizens. My daughter will be 21 this year and she can’t wait to vote . But I know for a fact that she will never vote except for 17 October so don’t disappoint her and her Generation by sleeping with the enemy. 14 March coalition got our votes in 2009 then fucked us in 2010 and onward .
Sara yafi always talks about how Jewish lobby for Israel in the congress and the senate . why can’t we ?
I agree with Nadim. You don’t have to die for the country . But there are so many available alternatives that you possess that Nadim never had .
That none of us actually had . Please use them wisely because you are our last hope

I honestly can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching this episode. I learned so much and you guys must know that Lebanon has a special place in our hearts no matter what happened. The Lebanese youths are an inspiration for me and many others. My family and I used to follow up your revolution news every day and when the explosion in the port happened we were praying and still praying for you guys to get rid of this nightmare once and for all. Your podcast idea is absolutely brilliant as well. Keep it up. Nadim is wonderful!

Very good he is a lateral thinker un possessive liberal minded ,trying to open eyes to the chains of holding onto what's not yours in the first place letting go of being a marter and surrendering to fellow man so we all can share and live equally....

I can watch Nadim all-day. A fantastic episode that shows precisely what's running in our heads daily, and most importantly how much effort should we put into trying to make something out of 17 October. I totally agree with trying our best until the next elections. Btw regarding the Louis Vuitton part, this is always what I loved about us the Lebanese and this is the image that I love to see being spread, we're educated, we drive the best cars, we have the best-designed houses simply because we love life. 10/10

What a great mentality this man has. He reached a place in his mind by which he was able to get rid of the delusional ideas that tear people apart and divide them and work to bind us, such as partisanship, nationalism, sectarianism, and others. I really enjoyed watching this episode and always found that my ideas correspond to his ideas and agreed with him on most opinions.. Plus that My country is also going through the same events and problems that Lebanon faces because I am from Yemen, and unfortunately Yemen has the biggest intellectual penetration from the Iranian regime and incursion by its militias, which planted the Houthi terrorist militia and uses them now in Yemen to practice the same crimes and terrorism that Iran committed in Iraq and Lebanon , and now they occupied the capital.. but anyway thank you so much for this episode

I agreed with some of the points he said, but he was contradicting himself and a clear Hariri sympathizer. Last time I checked Saad Al Hariri failed many times in his role as Prime Minister. Also, he said you can't change the system with white gloves on but I don't want you to go to war. Also, they are corrupt but you have to work with them to change the system. I felt you and Medea could have pushed some answers a bit more, it was more of a monologue not an interview to be honest.

@Mhamad Safa I hope you're not talking about Sarde. Or Sky News Arabia? He does have a 9-5 job that pays him to talk trash about Iran and co. so what he said in this interview is nothing unexpected.
