I'd listened to Kuhlau's piano music before and liked it very much. These flute trios are a revelation, delicate and melodious, especially enjoyable because the three flautists have brought out their innate beauty. Many thanks for furthering my musical experience.
Wunderschöne Interpretation dieser sieben fein oder perfekt komponierten Trios in verschiedenen Tempi mit milden doch gut phrasierten Tönen dreier technisch perfekten Flöten und mit perfekt vereinigter Dynamik. Die intime und perfekt entsprechende Miteinanderwirkung zwischen den drei orientalischen Virtuosinnen ist wharlich ergreifend. Alles ist wundervoll!
Excellent and elegant flute playing! 👏 I participated in playing a few of these Kuhlau flute trios myself, back in the mid-1990s. But I don't think what we played ever sounded this elegant. 😉 I have just ordered a copy of the CD box set for myself - and another one as an upcoming Christmas gift for a close friend of mine, who also plays the flute.
