I often watch the BBC weather site by also comment that it should be the Scottish weather site as they cleary lean towards what the weather is like in Scotland & may mention the rest of the UK ?

@@marcmartins2002 Hm. I started watching TV again in 2022 when I inherited my late father's TV and bought an antenna. I had thought about it for years because I was really nostalgic and got the sads from watching things online. I did it mostly for the local news but have also seen many things I had never heard of, haven't seen in decades, or have wanted to see for a long time. Sometimes, movies on TV are also available "free with ads" on CZcams Movies, Amazon Freevee, or Tubi, but I quite like the TV experience; it's very nostalgic.
That's about 40 years late.
Even more reasons to cancel that television licence 👍👍👍

People must 'vote' with their license fee as I have, there is no longer a place for the BBC in the UK. Shame, but that's what happens when the leaders of an organization have no integrity and don't care. Imagine if you put Nigel Farage or Andrew Bridgen in charge of the BBC, > 90% of the staff would have to be replaced.

Agreed. I used to work as an IT specialist for BBC News 16 years ago and up on the management floor of Television Centre Lord Reith's mission statement was displayed for all to see. Unfortunately that statement is forgotten due to many things in the organisation that are too much to go into here!

Having lived in the Middle East for many years we relied on the BBC world service for unbiased and balanced reporting . This view has changed over the last ten years. Friends still living abroad tell me that Al Jazeera News is now a better source of information…

What concerns me is that there is still a large swath of the population, particularly the older generation, which still takes mainstream news as their source of information and doesn’t question the narrative.
Disagree! I dont think its about age! I am old and have time now to investigate, am more cynical and have common sense! The younger generation often go along with what they are told by the media because they are too busy to look deeper and think about issues!

I haven't watched a terrestrial TV channel since 2012, and I've never been happier. Watching the BBC and Channel 4 is like watching a Party Political Broadcast on behalf of the Labour party, and the others are 70% ads, 30% divisive "reality" shows. No thanks.
