when you dive into water from high it would be cool if the water comes up to meet you to soften your landing, i am pretty sure it happens in the show aswel.
Im pretty sure Korra had a scene in the final two episodes of season 1 where she was swimming fast to save general iroh, maybe you could use that as reference?
I just checked, it seems more like normal swimming rather than water bending. It’s possible they could use that as a reference, but I’m not completely sure.

Been checking out your vids and game on dreams for awhile now. Son recently got into avatar big time, showed him your game on dreams and now he’s as pumped as I am.
My memory is foggy but I remember one of the invasion / war episodes when they use the mechanist's submarines (I remember the scene where aang is airbending an oxygen helmet around appa underwater, ik that isnt what you're looking for) there may be something of use for you there! and as always great work!!
I haven't checked on this games progress in forever and I come back and I'm like, "Oh the lighting looks a little flat" But then Sang starts moving and flying and swimming and there's a photo mode and I was completely blown away by how smooth and in depth everything is. It's like holy cow. I really hope that you guys get to finish this before Dreams gets shut down or something. That would be my biggest fear.
In season 3 episode 1, the awakening, Aang goes underwater to get through a blockade. And in Sozins comet part 2 Aang swims underwater to discover he was on a lion turtle instead of an island.
One scene that comes to mind for me is at the start of season 3, aang dives under the blockade with his glider pointed forward, it could go off of that pose and do a bit of a dolphin wiggle with it? Not explicitly waterbending but diving down from height and cutting through like a torpedo would be really satisfying :)
The amount of progress this game has made is insanely impressive man even tho i haven't been able to tune into every previous update but great work regardless

One of the ways waterbending was used to go underwater was in The Secret of the Fire Nation (Book 2 Episode 12 around 15:58). Katara and Aang had to waterbend the water around them to go through the Serpent's Pass. I say that AtLA has always been creative with their bending, so be creative with the way they go underwater if you want. It'll be awesome to see what you make
In the finale of S1 of legend of Korra, Amon gets knocked out of the building with airbending, gets exposed, and then starts swimming away (kinda underwater/on the surface) with waterbending really quickly
For swimming, Zuko swam under the northern water tribe while infiltrating it. There's also clips from The Serphents's Pass and The Beach of the Gaang swimming above surface
I have an idea for waterbending swimming. In Aang's fight with Ozai right after Aang redirects his lightning into the air Ozai blasts him off the mountain, then as he's falling into the water from high up he bends the water to meet himself in the air and break the fall. It could be used in your game in a moment like 2:26 Keep up making our childhood dreams come true :)
Aang swam to the huge lion turtle's head on episode before the last i think, and katara vs unagi on season 3, she surf the water while fighting. could be also cool if you make the water into ice sliding/skating move that's done at katara vs paku fight and also when paku and white lotus breach ba sing se, this is also a mobility water bending move that can be done on surface aswell.
I heard dreams was supposed to get a ps5/pc release and they canceled it. Glad to see you're still putting your heart into this. Looks really cool my friend.
In the episode of Kyoshi island katara uses waterbending to propell herself backwards really fast with Aang in her arms, im sure you can work that around into a proper swimming mechanic!
When sang goes into the avatar state in the second episode he does a sort of tornado spin to get out of the water. Not sure if it’s what you’re looking for but he gets out pretty fast
You could do how The waters look during the Kaiju scene right, make a bullet shape of spirit glowing water around the character to show that there is water being bended around said character! Then you’d want to swim as a water bender more because you’ll have enhanced underwater vision due to the waters glow! Like how water glows when a bender is healing or the Kaiju glow at the end of book one
Amazing, i hope and wish you the best. I just hope that this game comes out one day as a full proper game, i am not fully upto info on if you can legally do that or not, but i am hoping for the best. Dont let eternal development creep in tho.
On a different note i think a good idea for waterbending would be to hold something like R1 (or really any waterbending button) and do something like a spiderman 2 type system where you hold one button and press another. Idk its just my thoughts

For waterbending you can have Ice skating to move across water, the waterbending tornado move korra does, or the water bubble to see the ocean floor areas.
One thing that would set this above even higher I think is remembering that bending is an extension of martial arts. This looks amazing and I cant wait to see what you do with it! 🔥
This was great!!!! For waterbending, look at the end of S3 when Aang saw the lion turtle underwater and he did a water boost Also don’t be afraid to use bending moves from LoK. Korra did the same water boost to save General Iroh, Amon (Noatuk) used a water boost to escape the crowd after he was outed as a bender at the end of S1 of korra
That is so cool!! This is a game I actually wanna play. The movements seem so fluid and the whole art style is nostalgic! Really feels as if you're in the word of ATLA! Good job guys!! Can't wait to see the final result.

i love playing four seasons and i dont keep up with updates so when i hit the water bending button and saw i was water bending i thaught it was so cool keep up the good work
Ang having an air bubble in the water doesn’t mean he can breath forever, it just means he can stay longer underwater, I think you should Make it an upgrade.

In season 1 episode 12, Aang uses the giant air bubble, to save everyone. In season 3 episode 1, he dives several meters into the ocean and speeds up.

An idea for fast swimming waterbender: in the episode The Serpents Pass(S2E12), Katara does this cool ice skiing on the water to catch up to aang.
Yeah I think we gonna add something like that later, mainly looking for something underwater right now though.

Netflix Book 3 (Fight with Ozai) at 20:40 Aang uses Water bending to get to land quickly. Maybe that helps
