Prior to the initiation of works, there numerous steps that should've been place.
1. Track record of the contractor. Have they ever done works of this magnitude and provide supporting evidence.
2. Sign a Service Level Agreement, which will outline all the conformance, standard and regulations that you will be applying in the project.
3. In the SLA include inspections, the client should either by themselves or through appointing a 3rd party to conduct quality control and progress reporting. Who inspected the levels, the Geotechnical investigation, the concrete results etc.
The contractor was probably amongst the cheapest and he got what he paid for.
Dude this is stuff that works in the west. You think these scammers care about any sla you can't even enforce by suing them

I rememeber watching another video in which the person said the very same statement until they met this other plumber who made them phrase it in this way. "Zvakachipa zvinodhura but sometimes zvinodhura zvinodhura"
The plumber was expensive and messed up their project entirely. What Nyasha shared of having an independent assessor is truly helpful where possible because Eish it can be difficult out there. Contractors will make you die a real death if you are not careful.

As a professional bricklayer I understand what contractors do ,,the took builders with zero skills for cheap labour ,,, hopefully in future I will get any opportunity for my passion in the construction industry

Q- Why did you decide to invest in real estate?
A- The money you spent on building the house and the money you get when you sale it makes sense ryt!! Why is it that property prices in Zim are very expensive?
The problem is zim is expensive and people want cheap then complain when sh*t goes wrong. Buy cheap buy twice. Then they want to say zim is bad.
How much was he paying ? To also fully understand this outcome ... Cheap is always expensive in the long run.
