I lived in NC for a year and missed Meijer so much! Meijer has significantly upped their plant game in the last year. I have never seen an astrophytum at a Meijer. You hit the jackpot at that location. You may have noticed we do not have the same stock of plants at our Lowes or Home Depots that you do in NC.
I was surprised they had one as well!
I found a astrophytum about a year or even two now ago at a meijers and it was a nice size! I’m in Ohio, I find some good plants at meijers.
Just got back from vacation from there !! My brothers lives in grand rapids . I went to miejer. Love it . Go to Horrocks its a greenhouse, you can plant shop and have a glass of wine or a beer :) amazing plants there .
You were at my most favorite grocery store. It is the main thing I miss about living in Michigan.

OMG...That Peace Lily. My husband would never allow me on another business trip....no way I could've left that in the store. I'm so glad there are no Meijer stores near me. I used to live in IL and loved that store...I was there at least once a week.
I actually work at a Meijer in Milwaukee! And I also snapped up a Ficus Shivereana! And mine has 2 plants in the pot!
I absolutely love meijer for plant shopping! I have found a few wishlist plants there over the last month, including a couple different Astrophytum, a Ring of Fire Philodendron, and the Shiverina Ficus! I love seeing the hidden gems they have!

Omg!!! What a fantastic place. That Koala bear pot with the money tree and the Ficus Shivereana were insane. Let’s not talk about the pots! Omg!!! All the pots were gorgeous. Fun Fact: There is a difference between burros and donkey tail. In the video that one is a Donkey tail because it has longer leaves and not so compacted petite leaves

@@LifewithAshleyAnita If you ever make it as far out as Lansing a couple places to check out are Van Attas Nursery and Hyacinth House also. They have huge plant selections, Van Attas has a nice property to walk around also for outdoor plants.
Check out Flowerland in Kentwood on 28th street. It's just a few miles west of that Meijer 😊

It’s a wonderful greenhouse! I second Telly’s if you haven’t been. They are famous nationwide. There is also Mason Jar Plant Shop. Not as far as Telly’s, but they are about 45 mins from GR in Kalamazoo. Worth the drive though 😉

I've been seeing "uncommon" plants at Lowes for a few months now. I recently bought a 4in. Manjula Pothos, an Alocasia Black Velvet, Alocasia Silver Dragon, and even saw a 4in. Rex Begonia. It's been kinda cool seeing these plants come out more and more instead of having to buy them offline or at a nursery!

Oh my gosh Ashley I literally was at a Fry's in Arizona area and I think their own by Meijer because I saw that exact ficus chvarina and I didn't know what it was so I passed on it but they had four or five for $7.99 so after your video I will be going back to get one lol lol lol big trouble spending money not so good lol lol lol❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Cannot believe these amazing finds in a supermarket. Ficus Shivereana Moonshine they are very rare. And you got a good price too there very expensive like €50 for a smaller one. I just got mine but i think the website was very misleading as it cost me alot of money for the same size as yours and all the bottom leaves were damaged. Website showed like a half tree size which i wanted a tall bushy one. The astrophytum bishops caps i love that one you got a nice healthy one i love the silvery soft one. I had the plain green one but didn’t survive i think i over watered mine. 😔

I just ran to my Meijer and they has the Pink Princes!!!! I bought 2 and a Philodendron that I am not sure what it is but beautiful and and all are healthy. Thank you for showing us I forgot my Meijer had plants

Hey Ashley. The shiverianas are clearly on their way to becoming common. I found about 20 or so of them for $6.99 at a Krogers in Hilton Head, SC along with a bunch of philo white wizards for $30.

I love Meijers houseplant and garden sections! Milk Confetti Syngonium have also been spotted at Meijer for 6.99, I believe! I always see plants I've never found at any other big box store, especially in their hanging baskets.

It's great that you can accompany your hubby when he travels for work. Is it rude of me to ask what he does? Lovely finds in that store! We don't have that chain in Australia unfortunately. The succulent that you ask about at around 11:39 looks very much like my String of Bananas 😄 The African Violets are so cheap there wow!!!! And OH MY GOODNESS I would have taken both Watermelon Peperomias home cos I just can't get them here in Sydney atm ...patiently waiting for my favourite plant shop to notify me when they're in stock😩 Thank you for sharing 👍🏼
My friend and I went to a plant sale hosted by the horticultural department at our community college. She bought a rubber tree a little shorter than that one for $7-8. Everything was incredibly low priced. And the last couple of hours, everything was half off. You should look into your local universities/colleges in case their horticulture depts have event like that.
Yay on the Ficus shiveriana! Grocery stores here in Seattle just started carrying similar sized plants for $25, but my store had them on clearance for $6.25--I bought 3 😂

Those animal planters have me sold ! I'd buy them up in a heartbeat , I don't have one of those stores around me but I definitely need to make more frequent trips to the plant sections in my local stores. Those prices are insane!

Meijer has definitely been my go to plant shop. I’ve purchased so many plants from there. Usually always taken care of well also.
The ficus is super cheap. Kroger grocery had them for I believe $29. I may go get another one from Meijer lol and all those pink Princesses looked so beautiful. I love them. I have several and I seem to fight spider mites. Not sure if that typically the case for those. Owell I’ll keep trying 😅 🌱 🪴
I bought mine at a Kroger grocery store about 5 weeks ago. I think Meijer and Kroger are the same company

Tip if traveling and you buy more plants than you can manage on a ✈️ goto post office or ups a couple days before you fly home and pack and ship them to your home and they should arrive about when you get home :)

Bright indirect light, a good drink when almost dry. Don’t let it completely dry out for too long or it will start to drop leaves. 🪴💚
You need to rent you a small u hale and drive back home so you can get all the flower you want.
