Nice work Ronny - great video!!!
Missed the bit about water & fuel capacity....but that's all we missed.
    Fuel - 93L factory tank + 180L Long Range Tank + 40L in Jerry Cans = 313L capacity which is about 2200km.
Water - 55L Bladder between rear seat & cargo barrier + 20L Jerry can behind fridge = 75L which lasts us 2 weeks being conservative.
Since the video, I've done my battery upgrade, catch can & intake clean.....getting ready for power increase next.

    Hey Ronny,
Thanks for your great videos. Really helpfull for somebody starting Off roading in Australia.
We have a Pajero nm series (manual petrol with 300k kms) with:
Barwork - No bullbar; no sidesteps, no rear bar; no underbody protection
Lights and coms - stock, no coms other than a couple of hand radios
Tyres and suspension - KONI shocks with 2' lift lovel springs
under the hood - "powerful" 3.5 petrol NA no dual battery no engine tune.
The rear - takes everything we need (no fridge, no drawers, no etc...)
    Interior mods - none
We just added a Rihno pioneer rack with roof top tent and jerry can holder for extra fuel.
However with a bit of creativity we travelled more than 25000 km in the last couple of trips. e.g. Tanami, Gibb river rd, savannah way, twilight cove, balladonia to esperance (off road)
Maybe one day you could make a video with a vehichle that has a different approach to adventure travelling. Equiped with just the bare essentials.
You were my reference when preparing for big road trips.
    Great work,
    Thank you very much

This popped up in my feed and I thought it was a recent video. I soon noticed this was the guy who documented the dusted engine and was surprised to think he mustn't have done anything to improve his airbox second time around... but no, realised this is 5 years old! Still worth watching though.

It is possible to purchase one and I am sure the price would be extremely high as the 1HD are around $10k here, but more importantly it would be impossible to register and use the car on public roads.

Smashing vehicle, with some great mods.
One question though - I notice this vehicle in particular, but also the others carry a lot of gear internally in the boot space and back seat. Would this not present a danger to the front seat occupants in the case of a motorway collision? Is there a bulkhead in the back? Is the gear secure ?

    • @great_offroad_adventures

12kerryman - I've got a cargo barrier between backseat & cargo area which protects me from all that, the green box on my backseat is strapped to the seatback & the only other stuff in the backseat is bedding & clothes.

Some people might cringe to the idea but how about a video like this based on a Holden Jackaroo preferably a 1992+ i notice your in Weston Australia but i know someone in Victoria you might be able to interview with a Jackaroo that isn't really a Jackaroo anymore with tonnes of custom parts etc. depending on how far you will travel.
Other then that i would love to watch a video like this of any Jackaroo you can find really

I have a new 2017 land cruiser and I take it out camping for half days ... its pretty much factory stock. I would love to do some over-landing and camping over the whole weekend, but I am not sure about how you manage to live life with a heavily modified car like this one. I mean I dont think I can pull up to the office, or go to a fancy business dinner something like that ... Please do enlighten how do you transform that back to an everyday car. The LC is expensive and I cannot have another car for Sunday-Thursday and take out the LC for weekend fun

    • @great_offroad_adventures
      @great_offroad_adventures Před 7 lety +5

I drive it to work everyday like you see it, sure that means its slightly less fuel efficient, but I leave the draws in and packed, fridge running and tent ontop. All I have to do for a weekend is pack food, clothes, bedding & camera gear. I rock up to work & go to parties in it, if people see it and ask me about it, I treat it as a conversation starter. If you enjoy camping and 4wding then your proud to share your experiences and stories with others.
      Kind Regards - Graham (Owner)

bruce 130013 - With it fully loaded and all the gear on the roof it's somewhere between 14-15L/100km.....which gives me 2000km range on the highway, add some 4x4ing in I can safely work on atleast 1500km from every tank, regardless of condition.
Without the stuff on the roof it averages 13L/100km but I only have 273L of fuel so can still only get around the 2000km mark.
Considering weight and size - it's impressive numbers.
