I think Pritam was just having fun, he’s not known for his vocal ability. But Arijit was exceptional here!

Agreed. Indian composers usually have a basic vocal ability to try to explain the desired output to the singer/vocalist. Examples of multi-talented composers who are accomplished vocalists are A.R. Rahman, Amit Trivedi, Wajid Khan, Vishal Bhardwaj and others. I really hope Arijit branches out into composing Bollywood music later in his career.

Actually in bolywood... Most of the songs that are composed by a person is sung by another person.... So originally it is written and composed by pritam but the commercial version is sung by arijit(Arijit is one of the top loved and aspired singer for all composers)

Such an informative analysis and reaction. Much appreciated...Why can’t more westerners get into Indian music? Indian music has the ability to evoke in an intensive way; to hijack the mind , heart and soul; and to create a soundscape that to my mind, compares and is analogous to a resplendent pyrotechnic display. Sorry if I got too wordy... but this is how I have to express myself to give you all a picture of how this genre of music affects me. Surely, I’m not the only person who feels this way while listening to the songs of Arijit, Lata,Pritam, Mithoon, Shreya, Atif, Rahat, Neha, Kishore, Mohammed, and many others.
