+brian rettkowski You were there too huh. I hear ya, Get Lynn Allen's "Live at Beethoven's" CD. It captured one of the magical nights there, you wont regret it and well worth the money.Sink or Swim Buddy.
And don't forget about Uncle Sams! 1st time i saw lynn allen there was unreal. The whole gang in sterling,il. Would make sure we was off that weekend that they was back in the quad cities area!
I worked the door at Beethoven's in '83-'84. This song popped up on my feed this a.m. Almost 40 years and I still remembered the lyrics. Which made me think... Does anyone know where I can get a copy of "Live at Beethoven's" ? I had a copy but lost it in a fire back in the early '90's. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks, Steve.
Beethoven's, way out on, crap, Kimberley Road? Billy and the gang. They'd start with the "Twisted Sister" Douglas Neidermeier (Animal House) doing "We're not going to take it" and maybe one more video. Tal Marske would go up to the bar and bring back 12 gin and tonics; John Hofmann was tending bar. First song was usually "Sing Me Away" and Holy Crap, Batman, this band ROCKED. They played so well. After the first set they'd purposely play completely jangled-up music, as if all the talent escaped them, for a huge laugh. Miss the 1980s, they're long gone, I know, but they still exist in those great songs.
Beethoven's, wasn't that Tuesday night at the fights? Seriously, with nickel or ten cent beers (don't remember which) and 19 year olds sometimes don't mix well, lol. Anyway, good times, good times.
The greatest pop rock song nobody heard outside of the QCA! Long live Tim Compton and the gang!
Made my summer of '84 a special time to live in!

This song is still my favorite!!!🙏🏾❤️💋
Sounds as good as any 80’s song on the radio
