    I have seen the Baltimore & Ohio #25 “William Mason” displayed at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, Maryland back in April 2019. Also I am planning on getting one of it’s movie appearances later this year, which also have the Lafayette in there too, along with Virginia & Truckee #22 “Inyo”. It’s the Great Locomotive Chase 1956, where they were all masqueraded as some Western & Atlantic locomotives involved in the chase.

    As a child The Great Locomotive Chase was my favourite movie and I've lost track of how many times I've seen it. To me the William Mason is The Archetype of the steam locomotive and my heart soars whenever I see it.

      Same here. It was also used as the mobile base/mode of transportation for the heroes in the movie Wild Wild West.

    The fact that I happen to be getting addicted to Tremors makes this all the more interesting when i realized that Burt Gummer was the host

    President Lincoln was inaugurated on March 4, 1861 rather than on January 20th as is done today. The change to a January inauguration date came about because of the 20th amendment to the Constitution in 1933 and the January 20th inauguration date did not begin until FDR's second inauguration in January of 1937. This could have a bearing on whether the Wm. Mason did actually pull Lincoln's train to Washington for the inauguration.

      Kalvin Chester They run her on the museum grounds. There is a CZcams video where she runs during a Civil War history day.

      Scott7891 that's not what I meant. I know they run her on the property, but her crown sheet is too thin and needs to be replaced. So, she's gonna be on static display until she gets it replaced.

    Are any of the steam locomotives at the B&O able to still run?

    • @paulmishler402
      @paulmishler402 Před 5 lety

      Yes, alot of the diesels are and the #4 which is a tank engine. The william mason would be able to run but some parts are craked and it costs a ton of money to replace them
