Hello Gavin, Really appreciate the information on annealing, and the nice product they provide but it looks like it will be awhile before I’ll be able to afford the Mercedes Benz of annealers!
I would love to have one of these. Being a scientist myself, I can appreciate the value of their research, but the price of entry is way more than a casual user can afford. If they could bring this down to the $500 range it would be on every precision reloading bench as a direct competitor with the benchsource.
drfroglegs I’ll say it now, this being in the $500 range isn’t possible. Building an induction annealer on your own will cost you over $300. Take in account everything in the AMP annealer is custom made: the Circuit board, the ferrite core, the case and so on. Realistically with profit they could possibly get this down to the 700-900 dollar range in the future.
@@jetthreat5000 I agree. I've seen a few attempts at induction annealing way back when with limited success. The fact they've mastered it to this level is impressive to say the least. Honestly, $700-800 would be a decent price range if it's sustainable for them. I think this offers significant advantages over the benchsource and only a couple hundred dollars more might not be that big of a step. But 2 or 3 times as much is a little more than I can handle and wouldn't provide me with enough return on investment (I'm not *that* great of a shooter).
@@BigO4185 All the pilots work with multiple cartridges. If you do need an additional pilot, they are only about $20. That's not cost prohibitive.
It’s made in NZ. I bet a USA product could be made for less
I speak with Matt quite often and Alex from time to time too. Really, really excellent folks.
You go that right!
Agree with the previous comment. Price needs to be aligned with the intension of the community, is a hobby. Thanks
Actually, this tool is not aimed at hobbyists. It's for people that are serious about winning competitions, doing research, or are super-serious about their shooting.
Good stuff! I use the AMP every time I reload
I wish I could afford this.
1st I really want one of these with the auto feeder. Just have to save my pennies
The AMP Mate is awesome. Love the automation!
I could literally watch it operate all day! 😀
This is awesome
Thanks Yakntoro!
Gavin has now met doppelgänger mate. Just a little taller but identical facial profile and features, spooky.
I really think salt bath is just as good, end result wise. Despite what AMP says about it. What sucks about it is the hazardous nature of it lol. One day maybe this will be reasonably priced.
I'm willing to listen! Do you have any scientific research (micro vickers hardness testing, etc) that you can point me to?
@@Ultimatereloader . Nope. But myself and many others have seen very high precision when resizing after the salt bath. It used to be my virgin or once fired lapua brass gave me the best groups. Could be placebo, but now with 15 firings the ES and precision stays. For convenience, if you have an AMP, there is no reason to salt bath!
+1 for AMP I bought one!
I really want an AMP...one day
Good job G- glad I found u'r channel
Thanks JR!!!!
Does the brand of brass matter
After u anneal do u have to size ur brass in the die?
I could do 500.00 but 1500.00 will never happen.
This is an industrial-grade tool. Pricing reflects that!
@@Ultimatereloader Hobbyist grade, the AMP mate is way too problematic to be considering industrial grade.
I just purchase my brass already anealed
Danny Barber All new brass is annealed. However, it work hardens as you use it, so you need to anneal it again to regain your neck tension consistency, and not split any necks due to them being hard.
Guess I should have listened to the video first
$1500 lolololololololol
COST $$
Anybody here because you searched how to gain a sponsor?
This isnt a commercial?
Price and productivity wise have you compared this to the Giraud/Annie induction annealing system?

The AMP mate is plagued with problems and an absolute pain in the ass to use. Go American made if possible and save yourself the headache.
