    Thank you so much for making this video!! It was so helpful!!! How many floors does Ridgecrest South have? And do you know which rooms are the biggest (A,B,C,D)?

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  Před 3 lety +2

      Aw, I’m so glad it was helpful!! We have five floors. Rooms A and D are slightly bigger because they’re on each end. They also don’t have the big column in them that I think are there to support the parking garage under us (those are in C and D). Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

    Hey! Kinda random question but are the closet doors in the bedroom magnetic? I think one of your roomates had some magnets on there which I thought was super neat. Great vid!

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  Před 3 lety

      They aren’t magnetic. Brooke told me she taped her magnets on!

    Helpful! I’m moving in this fall. Does the hall kitchen already have pots and pans to use or do I have to bring my own?

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  Před 2 lety

      I’m glad! You’ll have to bring your own pots and pans for the communal kitchens

    Hi!! Do you know if you are allowed to have a small crockpot in the dorms? Also has anyone every hung their microwave over th sink on a shelf to free up counter space?
    It would also be so helpful to know which specific room you each have (like “this is room A”, this is room “B”)

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  Před rokem

      Hey Alison! I don’t remember what the exact rules are on dorms anymore. I’m guessing that TECHNICALLY you’re not supposed to have a crockpot, but I don’t know that it actually matters.
      I’ve never known anyone to put the microwave anywhere else, but I’m sure you could!
      We made another dorm tour a few months before this one that walks through each person’s room and we say which room letter we have in that video :)
      Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Did the TV also come with the room or did you have to buy that yourself? And how do you find roommates freshman year?

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  Před 3 lety +1

      We brought the TV and also bought a Roku for it. I found my roommates through the university’s roommate search, the Facebook group for 2024 (you can just search it on Facebook for your class and request access), and an Instagram page titled something similar. People put their social media and a description of themselves, and you can dm them and get to know them!

      Thanks! It saved lots of space! I think I found mine at a store called At Home, but here’s one on Amazon that looks similar:

    For the person in room D, what is the best way to situate the bed? I am going to be in room D, and I'm just trying to figure out where I want my bed.

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  Před 3 lety +1

      My roommate had her bed in D up against the window, but my roommate in A had it against the wall. Both seemed like good options and both of those rooms are the same size. I would just take a look at Brooke's and Riley's rooms and see which layout you prefer!

    Hey!! okay so my sister is going to the university of Alabama this fall. She is staying at paty hall. She thinks there is going to be a more boys than girls that stay there? is it true, and is paty a good dorm to stay at?

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  Před 3 lety

      I honestly didn’t know anyone who lived in Paty, so I’m not sure. I think it was recently renovated... might be wrong about that though. It’s in a good location and I think with the traditional set-up, she’ll have an easy time meeting people! Sorry, wish I could be more helpful!

    What size curtains and rods did you get for bedroom?

    • @ErinOLaughlin_
      @ErinOLaughlin_  Před rokem

      I think the curtains were 84 inches? And I do not remember for the rod, but I got one that was adjustable since I wasn’t sure how long I’d want it. I bet you can find the dimensions of the window if you search for Ridgecrest South on UA’s website!

      If you google Ridgecrest South, the dimensions for everything are on their website! Here’s what I found for the desk: “Desk (2 pieces)(desk, 30” W x 24” D x 30” H) (storage unit, 18” W x 24” D x 30”H)”
