A brief video of how we make our smaller sunray pleating pattern and how we pleat the fabric. If you like the video then visit us at: www.cimentpleating.com
Just watched a video on Kim Dave's channel and I searched for you straight away. It's amazing the amount of work that goes behind the scenes to get a piece of art at the end. And it's sooooo affordable too! I'm blown away. Thank you 😊
Also just came straight from a Kim Dave video on you. Was hoping to find out how the cardboard doesn’t become soggy/disintegrate! But enjoyed it watching!A thing of beauty!

very good your video. I'm trying to do this myself and I've already had several discarded papers but I'll keep trying !! This art has been lost here in my country, you really have wonderful hands !!!! Congratulations!
Worked as a pleat maker at Brody's in aldgate 1980-1986 under the best pleat maker that ever lived.. John smith..I've made untold sunrays..you methods are very different from Brody's I'll leave it at that..I was sample room manager at Jasper Conran and would do their pleats in house with just an iron and fuse press..but use Cement sometimes when busy

As per my knowledge, Pleated fabrics should always be steam ironed from a distance (contactless as much as possible) .. this applies to mostly sheer and flowy fabrics.. if the fabric is thick then it need not be contactless..
Hi. Where did you get the steam box, bought the ready one or made by yourself? And please advice where did you get the paper 200, maybe you can give me the link, I can’t find it in Russia. Thank you, waiting for your replay.
Hello, my name is Mardwene, I'm Brazilian, here in Brazil we do not have steam box, could you explain a little about the functionality and the temperature that it reaches? If I have some functionality information I can try to make a steam box. Would you help me with information?
Hi, Mardwene sorry for the delay in response. The cabinet has a water tank in the bottom with an immersion heater which boils the water. You also need to suck the air out of the top otherwise the paper gets too wet.
Loved the Kim Dave video! I recently saw a video about the history of Fortuny Delphos dress. It said the method for making the tiny pleats is a secret. Have you been able to replicate or know any stories about this? Thank you!
@@eastwell Very true but if you use Nylon then the pleat won't hold for more than 1-2 days. When pleating it is best to use polyester. This will give you a permanent pleat.
Hello climent pleats, how can I DM you? Will like to discuss with you, I want to come over for training, how long and what is the cost implications. ? (Tuition) Thank you sir in anticipation.

I'd have to argue that my dad was and still is the best pleat maker. He worked or ran the business for 45 years.
Thanks for sharing .. learnt something here

Great videos on your channel, out of curiosity would the pleats stay in after the fabric is washed?
If you use a polyester then you can wash the pleated fabric at 30 degrees.
Ciment Pleating , I assume that I have to wash it by hand, right? Does it need to be pressed later? Thanks so much!!!

No not exactly but we do have a pleat that is similar call "treebark" There is a photo on our website in the fancy pleat section.
Hello. Please tell me what kind of cardboard is this?
Can a cotton or linen fabric get the sunray pleats?
Yes it can but the pleats will crease when you wear the fabric.
Hallelujah thank you!!!! 💃🏽

What kind of paper do you use?

What kind of paper is that?
Wat kind of paper is that? Or where can I buy the pattern?
How will the pleats stay when washed?
If you use 100% polyester then the pleats will stay if washed at 30 degrees.

A steamer

Que es lo que hiso el señor? Plisó una tela?

What kind of material? I want that carboard name and life
Does this method keep the pleating permanently or is there some kind of process you need to do to treat the fabric
All depends on fabric..man made fabric hold the pleat better
@@eastwell Very true but if you use Nylon then the pleat won't hold for more than 1-2 days. When pleating it is best to use polyester. This will give you a permanent pleat.
Using Polyester the pleat will be permanent. If you use silk, cotton or wool then the pleat will loosen when wet.
Do you sell the pattern or mould for someone to use.
We don't but if you email info@cimentpleating.co.uk I can pass your details on to a friend of mine who does.
como eu faço para adquirir esse gabarito para prensar
I don't understand eh question sorry.
I made a sunray mold, about a year ago....once you get to the tiny bits in the middle, it really gets difficult!
You have to make sure the fold is in the exact place accuracy is the most important thing
I didn't cut out the center...it came to a point.
That would make it very difficult yes

What happens in that box type room where they keep pattern
It's a steam cabinet and this sets the pleats. You have to let it cool down after for around 45 minutes.
Wow
Brother which press (Iran) u using?
Guau que bueno
What is the fabric which you used for pattern ?
The pattern is made from 200gsm card. The fabric we pleated was polyester as this holds the pleat longer than any other.
Quanto de centímetro de uma prega pra outra
Isso varia conforme a prega se forma. Se você quiser experimentar um, precisará de cerca de 100 linhas por semicírculo.
Please share with us how to iron and maintain these pleats in finished garments.
You can't iron these pleats. The heat will get rid of the pleat. You need to use pure polyester. This can be washed in a machine and hung dry.
@@mattywein thank you for your feedback!
Whats d name of the material used as pattern? Thanks!
