@@atsz. I'm Norwegian and that's kind of true, however, since we have our own language some names like mine, doesn't translate well to English pronouncing.
@@atsz. The last name Jansen is as Dutch as it can be. Although Dutch isn't a Scandinavian language (it's Germanic) , the sound of J pronounced by an English speaker even doesn't exist in Dutch. (edit: except the many loanwords)
Just remember the keyboardist is the composer/writer and EVEN he headbangs while playing.. No one EVER talks about that.. :-(

Floor may have only been with Nightwish for about 10 months at this point, but she had also been in other metal bands (After Forever, Revamp) for the previous 15 years.
Nightwish gave her the boost that she needed and deserved though, in many levels.
7 months to be precise.

@Flavio R: Where are you from? Are you sure, that it is pronounced with an "V"? I'm a german and I would it pronounce with an (german) "W" Sound. With an "V" it would sounds like "Fucken"! 🤐

@@HypeTrain-Follow in the german language, W is V and V is F. When I find myself getting confused, I just recall the Volkswagen commercial (folksvagen).
Actually Floor had been with them for about 10 months when they played at Wacken. The first time she was on stage with them was in Seattle in the US. This happens to be my favorite Nightwish song. The thing about Nightwish is you never know what to expect when you hear one of their songs for the first time. Tuomas is a genius when it comes to composing songs and writing the lyrics. The gentleman he works with at the London symphony to do the orchestral parts, that you were talking about in the background, actually did call him a genius.

Great reaction! Tuomas took a lot of the lyrics for this song from the famous poem 'Song of Myself' by Walt Whitman (Circa 1892) There seems to be a bit of confusion concerning. The 48 hours thing. Was for their concert in Seattle on O1 October 2012. I know because I was there at the Showbox Sodo. This performance at Wacken was little more then 10 months later, as this Metal Festival is always held the first weekend of August.. This is the song that was performed immediately after 'Ghost Love Score'. Making it the second to the last song of their set list. 'The Last Ride of the Day' being the 15th and last song of their concert!.

They're all awesome. Hard to go wrong if you stick with the main 4 shows (audio quality reasons). Wacken 2013, Tampere 2015, Wembly 2016, and for the look into the past with Tarja, End of an Era. They all rock!🤘👍

So much of music today is made with a laptop and sounds phony. This stuff is old in a good way. There is talent, passion and chemistry in these NW live pieces.

It seems, that Floor is always so fully in those songs she is performing. Do Alpenglow (Wembley live) and you will see her smiling and dancing.
Guys Floor loves performing and took musical theater classes. You can see the way she moves on stage and how expressive she is during a song, BUT the one thing you really notice is how Floor loves the crowd and her fans. During her appearance on the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers (highly recommend you see her solo songs without Nightwish to marvel at her versatility and range) she even posted thank you videos to her fans for their support. She is the total composition of talent, class and grace and despite that talent she is the most non-diva around always smiling and interacting with her fans. Hey while you are jumping around try this SLOW JAZZ number by Nightwish done by Floor who was with the bands only a week or so. The audio and video are OK but man the song she sang should of set that place on fire.. Slow, Love, Slow (czcams.com/video/Ol9VbuKKZ5U/video.html) no reaction needed just for you own enjoyment.
Anyone telling you to not bang your head clearly doesn't know how music works. Bang away my friend, hell this song especially is a right little headbanger.
One of the things you are going to notice about Nightwish is they are having a hell of a good time up there. This is a live band. That's how you want to see them and hear them.
I’ve listened to many many bands of this genre but Nightwish songs tower above any of them. Such a tight band, amazing Keyboardist/songwriter, Viking bass player, Valkyrie singer, Hobbit guitarist, Demon drummer, Hippy Pipe player. Perfection in a band!

If you listen to the album version (Annette) there's another half to this song. Stunningly beautiful orchestral music and a heartbreaking poem read by friends, crew, family, and Troy before he was a full member of the band. Well worth a listen, as they obviously can't play it live.
My german is non existent, but I'm fairly sure that wacken is pronounced with a V. I absolutely love how Floor times some of her gestures with the fire going off, it looks amazing.
‘Dark Chest of Wonders’ from Wacken 2013 was the song they kicked off with, that will crush your ears, sooooo good! Keep it up!

I believe that you are ready for some of the more special stuff from Nightwish. I suggest you react to Greatest Show on Earth, from Tampere. I promise you that you have never seen or heard anything like this, with synchronized fireworks, scientists speaker. It's about the universe and us, from big bang and up to where we destroy ourselves. Fabulous show which no one else ever have done - not even close.
And then you should react to The Poet and the Pendulum, from Wembley - completely different and shows Toumas's unique ability to write - and Floor's unique abilities using her own voice techniques - to give you an experience of a lifetime.

The problem with reacting to a Nightwish song is that there is no place for you to talk for there are so many changes and surprises which you'll miss the impact of, eg in this one every single reactor thinks they can take the opportunity during the first quiet moment to talk and they completely miss the impact of Marko coming in.

Floor had always loved the band Nightwish before she joined. I think maybe even a job she dreamed of having. I suspect (just me pondering) that they may've talked to her about it long before Anette was canned. But yeah, she was digging being in the band at this point in her career.

With non-English names like Wacken and Jansen, you can safely assume that the A-sound is not like 'name' or 'bad'. English has had 'the great vowel shift', so English is often the exception when it comes to pronouncing vowels. The safe bet is always the A as in 'father', which is correct for both Wacken and Jansen (and Zangers).

Yes! I do count that as a FloorGasm!!! This happens to be my favorite song by them. But, I love all of their stuff with Floor. I tried to get into them early on but Tarja was too Opera for me.

Guys, love your reaction to Nightwish If you really want to see haw good Marco is as a singer, try Nightwish's tribute to Pick Floyd, High Hopes. Who in their right mind would try to do a Pink Floyd tribute, Marco absolutely kills this and I known it is sacrileges but in my opinion it's better than David Gilmour’s.
