- Come and explore this peaceful waterfall with me and take some colour palette inspiration from all of the lovely nature scenes we captured on camera.
As artists it can be overwhelming to create colour palettes, especially for beginners, so I wanted to show you how to look at the true colour of things and be inspired by what you see.

You don't have to get bogged down in colour theory before you start making art, you can absolutely take a more holistic approach and be intuitive with your colours and take inspiration from the world around you to get started, and as you grow as an artist incorporate the textbook stuff when you feel more comfortable. You do what works for you!
I created this video in collaboration with my partner Dan, who loves to film and edit (lucky for me!) and he took this beautiful footage for me to make these palettes out of. Big thank you to him for filming and editing my videos, I couldn't do it without him!

I absolutely love this video and needed it! Im horrible with color pallets and finding inspiration for them. Using nature is a genius idea i love it! I live in Port Angeles, Washington, USA and it is green and lush here! About two hours west of us is the HOH rainforrest which is the only rainforrest in the PNW and moss grows so well here from all the rain and moisture ❤

This is amazing - colour theory overwhelms me so much but this helps loads! Procreate can create colour palettes from photos too which is really useful. Looking forward to seeing more videos in his series! Thanks again Mimi!

@@MimimooIllustration yeah, I can’t remember how to do it now but I think you can just drag and drop an image into the colour palette picker...maybe look it up! 😂

We're using Premier Pro and After Effects, I'm very lucky that my boyfriend is a video editor so I get to just make the illustrations and point at the colours I want and he animates it for us 😄 I think we'll make a video or two about CZcams and editing videos soon to share our process and some tips!
