And how do you explain other people's near death experiences, that are from different religions, for instance a Muslim dying and coming back will be a way different story than a Christian version of dying and coming back... come on mate simple fucking LOGIC!

I think God is a purely human construct. Many eons ago, early humans stopped physically adapting to their environment and starting adapting the environment to their needs by creating things (shelter, tools, weapons, clothing). So early humans are designers and creators of objects, we have the capacity to imagine. So eventually humans think, who makes the thunder and lightning? who makes the sea? who makes the trees? Humankind is a creator, and because of this mindset we assume that everything was created by a consciousness- so we imagine the god of the wood, the god of the sea, the god of thunder and lightning. Eventually this polytheistic version is morphed in to the idea of an all powerful creator god and monotheism is born a few thousand years later. Humans survive and advance by making things so we assume that we have a maker.
Maybe the universe wasn't made by an all powerful being with a fully formed ego and consciousness- maybe the universe just IS.

    • @cooltune
      @cooltune Před 10 lety +9

It doesn't even have to be eons if you think about it. Scientology just made up the Lord Xenu, that supposedly exist for millions of years. And this believe is how old ? 25 years? The fact that a grown man like Tom cruize can be preyed upon and converted like that, proves to me that humans are inherently sheep who will believe anything (without question) if their mind is molded hard enough in moments of weakness.
Also our ability to lie to ourselves isn't helping either.

We know God does not exist because he is a character in a fictional book. To say I don't know whether god exist is the same as saying I don't know if Spiderman exist because I cannot prove he doesn't exist. God is a character in a book with a talking snake, a talking donkey , a book in which walking sticks turn into snakes and many other obviously fictional events .How can you extract a real person from such a book. If the world has a creator that creator is not God he is something else.We know human being write books and the bible is a product of human imagination. There is no room for being agnostic and say I do not whether God exists. Without the bible there is no God and the bible was created by man therefore man created God. God does not exist outside the book, hence no answered prayers.

Agnostic means.... we have no ability prove that supernatural gods exist, say nothing of assume. Atheist means one does not believe in gods or deities due to zero scientific evidence backing this man made theory up. Both of these categories, require courage, intelligence, logic and critical thinking. I am in both categories, but I always defer to the terms of atheist or non theist, because the word agnostic is often misconstrued. Science and logic are my only truth and reality. Outside of that, it is just wishful magical machinations.

Do I believe that there is a spiritual being, who's origins and motivations cannot be explained, and who brought each one of us into existence (against our will, mind you. No one asks to be born.) without any explanation as to why or what we're supposed to do with this physical life? No. Do I believe that God exists because we created him as a means to answer questions we cannot answer ourselves, and as a source of comfort and strength in times of crisis? Yes.

This is a very common belief. But it's true that it's much easier to believe there is no god- and do whatever you want- than the believe there is a God who will judge righteously. The great scientists in the age of enlightenment, like Isaac Newton, believed there was a god (as did most people throughout history). To suppose that every human being who ever believed in God never even bothered to "start to think" is incredibly arrogant, not to mention illogical.

That's wrong. You can prove certain propositions don't exist. For example we know that married bachelors don't exist. By the law of self contradiction, we can prove universal negatives. That being said, atheism is the proposition that God does not exist. Yes, you heard me. Philosophers do agree that a psychological state is too broad of a definition and anyways that title belongs to agnostics. By your definition, babies, animals are all atheists, which is not a good definiton. Thus, we stick to three basic types of belief - theism, agnosticism, and atheism. Hope this answers your question :)

Xavy Johnson Tomy I think the most common problem comes with the ''super natural'' tag as it feels like an escape from common rules of logic.
Here's an example situation without the use of religion, that has kinda the same point as Jonathan made, I think.
Suppose I say, I can fly.
Someone says, no you cannot, to which I say yes I can, followed by *prove that I can't fly*. That is impossible to prove, beyond the fact that humans cannot fly, which is a fine argument. But then if I say my capability of flight is a *super natural* ability that defies mere earthly capabilities, and is a true miracle. You cannot disprove it, even though it's a load of shit, pardon the language. Here ofcourse is the point where the rightfully suspecting person knows that the burden of proof is on the claiming side, and asks him to fly, or to somehow prove that I have this super natural capability to fly, since it is impossible. To which I say you *just have to believe. *
Arguing this is pointless as it doesn't follow the rules of reality. You (atleast most of the time) cannot prove a negative, which I think, if I understood correctly, was the point Jonathan was trying to make.

_" By your definition, babies, animals are all atheists, which is not a good definiton."_
Why not? It has a perfect correspondence with normal words like "homeless" that nobody has any problem understanding. I submit that people who can't grasp the context involved here are so retarded that they might also object to your claim that you can prove that married bachelors don't exist on the grounds that they just flat out refuse to understand what you mean by bachelor.
In any case, that babies are atheists is actually not a problem because babies are just an early stage of human development and they employ the same natural epistemic standards for automatic learning that adults do - which includes the rational principle that existential claims are assumed to be false until evidence suggests otherwise. You are perfectly rationally justified in being an atheists without ever having heard about the concept of god for the same reason you're perfectly rationally justified in not believing in an infinity of other bullshit there's no evidence for. You might possibly be wrong, but you're certainly going with the most probable hypothesis when you assume nonexistence in the absence of evidence and therefore it's a rational decision.

We don't look at the non-believers and say "Prove that Nessie doesn't exist!" as that would be absurd.

You see, I believe that God is evil for creating sin. Let me tell you why.
Think about it, an ALMIGHTY being creates us, humans. The almighty being, aka God, knows our desires, knows our needs, and gives us free will. Now imagine some of God's creations, aka humans, disobey God. Because God is all wise, he should be able to understand how humans perceive the world and thus, be not bothered by their disbelief. When the unbelievers die, God should simply show himself to the unbelievers and calmly explain that he's real. Since he's all loving and knows human nature, he should be able to understand and respect free will of his own creation. God is a loving being who knows every single nook and cranny of his creation, as such he shouldn't be offended if people down believe in him, after all, it's their choice.
Sounds like a good world to me! Now I want you to tell me, does god have any logical reason to create sin?

No, zero. There is absolutely NO reason as to why a loving all knowing being would condemn a simple mortal to eternal torture for disbelief. Also, you can tell me “Sin is a result of free will” Okay… God can just not consider free will a sin and be done with it? Why make sin? What purpose does it serve other than the threat of eternal damnation?
Well, I'm assuming he's real, he's not, but you get the Idea.

Whether it's good or bad, our trust is in the Lord, who sees over all things on the earth as well as over the universe that He has created. While we are dwelling here on the earth, we do not know everything that goes on here. So it's best to leave it up to the Lord to do that, for He is able. That's how we grew up, leaving all things for our Mom and Dad to handle all things, for they are able, huh? But when we get to go home to the Father, then we will get to know what we wanted to know while we were here. Repentance to salvation is what He has said! Since he has become not only the enemy of God but he is also the enemy of mankind as well. Why is it that parents always teach their children to be good? Because if reinforcement is not there child will automatically go in the wrong direction. Even headed to hell direction. Here is a scripture verse I would like you to read for yourself, Proverbs 23:13. Go to the Church and hear the word of God. Or listen to the sermon through Christian broadcast, T.V. or radio. The Bible says the faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. When you are listening to the Word, God will give you a gift of faith. By faith, you will see yourself as the sinner, just as He has said. Then you repent of your sins before Him, He will forgive you and make you a new man. A child of Holy One. I hope to see you in His heavenly kingdom. Amen.

I think I may have accidentally proven that the Christian/Jewish/Muslim versions of God do not exist mathematically. All three of these versions define God in part as a being of infinite power who created the Earth. But it just occurred to me to ask, "How easy would it be for a being of infinite power to create something finite, like the Earth?" The answer to that would be that it would be too easy, literally, meaning that he couldn't do it because it was too easy.
The reason is this: If someone's power is infinite, then what percentage of that power would be needed to create something finite? And the answer is simply: Too small. Even 0.000001% of infinity is still infinity when you look at infinity mathematically.
So even if we ignored the fact that creating something of infinite energy would instantly create a black hole so dense that everything in the universe would already be inside of it, what would be created could only have an infinite value of energy. The Earth is big, but still finite, and to create a finite amount from an infinite power would require an infinitesimal amount of effort.
Now, you could go on to say that God is infinitely subtle, since he would have to be in order to make something that is not infinite, but if God was infinitely subtle, he could use as much power as he wanted, and he still would not be able to make anything occur.
I think an easier way to visualize this is to think back to the lunar landing. When the first astronauts were being trained to walk on the moon in a low gravity simulator, they had to retrain their muscles to be more subtle to compensate for the lower gravity, since using their normal amount of power for a step made their leg just go up and up and they couldn't complete the step. Now, if they had an infinite amount of power, then it wouldn't matter how subtle they were trying to be, they wouldn't even be able to complete one single step.
And there you have it. Mathematical proof that the Christian/Jewish/Muslim versions of God are not real.

I too enjoyed your reasoning, although i disagree with it. Lets get started off by saying that anyone in their right mind who has read the Christian/Muslim/Jewish creation story already knows it is inconsistent with reality, and therefore wrong within reality. But a being with infinite power creating the universe is still theoretically possible. I thought of a mathematical line, and infinitely long, infinitely thin strand of points stretching for all eternity. Although it would be impractical to use such a large thing to do even the most basic of mathematical operations, we often use parts, or segments, of lines to show measurements, graph information and generally organize ourselves when dealing with shapes. So, if humans can take an infinitely long, impractical tool, and separate it into manageable, practical, pieces, infinitely less than 1%, could not other things do it too?

    • @bencrispe2497
      @bencrispe2497 Před 10 lety

      Contingency Plan
Well, you are correct in your mathematical reasoning, but even though we don't know if the universe is infinite in size, but we know that the universe has been around for a finite amount of time. Time is a subtlety that is nearly always lost on creationists, so I don't expect them to pick up on it.
Since we know that the universe has finite time, we know it has finite space. The reason is because of what scientists are calling "now slices". This is basically the property of time to be influenced by the directionality of moving objects in relation to each other. Let me give you an example. If you and I were standing a few meters apart, and I started walking towards you, my "now" would be slightly in your future, and if i walked away from you, my "now" would be slightly in your past. The separation of time would be increased if we were standing further apart.
The reason this means that the universe is finite in size is because if an object is moving, then its past now slice cannot extend back through time an infinite distance. If there was infinite room for a now slice to cut back through time, it could cut back up to 20 billion years, which is a span of time that we know has not existed.

Although I don't believe in any god, I was using an analogy to describe the flaws in your previous statement, playing "Devil's Advocate" if you will. I don't comprehend what you mean to dispute in my argument. If you are using it to prove that something with infinite distance could not exist, I agree, but I was using it as a theoretical analogy anyway, so....?

Allow me to help you, though you could just read the Bible yourself to find out how the God of the Bible operates and why. Here is one example of how God deals with people's belief- there are of course many other instances:
" When Jesus had said these things, he departed and hid himself from them. Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him, so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:
“Lord, who has believed what he heard from us,
and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
Therefore they could not believe. For again Isaiah said,
      “He has blinded their eyes
      and hardened their heart,
lest they see with their eyes,
and understand with their heart, and turn,
      and I would heal them.”
Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory and spoke of him. Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, so that they would not be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God."
Here's something else that shines light on your question about belief and the God of the Bible making himself known:
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen."
If you ever wonder anything about the God of the Bible, look for yourself. If you really want to know, that is.

It is impossible to be those 3 attributes and yet allow evil to exist. Because of this, you can disprove some gods based on their descriptions. Like if I say "there's an invisible teapot orbiting earth" you can't disprove it but if I say "and it's made of 100% iron and 100% gold" then maybe the teapot is there, but _my_ teapot that is 100% iron and 100% gold doesn't. So it can be disproven.

I would have no problem with all the utterly ludicrous, irrational, and sociopathic claims about the supernatural that religion makes and treats as empirical fact, on the following conditions:
      - You keep it to yourself and your community of ADULTS at all times, and especially when you're trying to be seen as providing benefit to the rest of society. Your claims of faith are bad enough on their own by being blatantly contradictory to intellectual integrity, but no society should have to tolerate your attempts at claiming a monopoly over common morality as well (when every piece of your supporting "evidence" is undermined by not living under a rock)
      - You don't feed it to children as fact, guilt-tripping them for not sharing your devotion. Don't even introduce it at all to them except comparatively to every other religion, so you don't just propagate your beliefs by virtue of denying them an informed opinion
      - You sure fucking do NOT try to influence social policy with it for everyone else. Theocracy is basically the lobotomized crack-whore version of walking up to a bunch of guys playing poker, and trying to convince them to give up because they're not following the official rules of Connect 4. You don't get to cry "intolerant!" when your own warped beliefs make exclusive claims to other people just for being born.

    Disproving God:
A married bachelor cannot exist. An omnipotent God can create a married bachelor, therefore God cannot exist. If your rebuttal is "but God can change the laws of logic blablabla" the problem is that proof is a logical concept and thus can only exist within the realm of logic. Existence is also a concept that occurs inside the realm of logic (as you need logic to distinguish existence from non-existence). Changing the laws of logic lies outside the realm of logic and thus we do not need to take it into account when we prove something. This sort of proof would be accepted in mathematics (proof by contradiction) and is actually more powerful than any proof involving the physical world.
BUT does that mean God does not exist? I am 100% sure God does not exist and it is impossible he exists but he can exist. This is because 100% sure and impossible are all logical concepts defined within the realm of logic, where God cannot exist. If the laws of logic somehow are "changed", then God can exist, but not in any definition that we can understand.

    • @ttproguy
      @ttproguy Před 8 lety +3

Russell Kumar "This question is based on a popular misunderstanding about the definitions of words like "almighty" or "omnipotent." These terms do not mean that God can do anything. Rather, they describe the amount of God's power. Power is the ability to effect change - to make something happen. God (being unlimited) has unlimited power, and the Bible affirms this (Job 11:7-11, 37:23; 2 Corinthians 6:18; Revelation 4:8; etc.). Therefore, God can do whatever is possible to be done. God cannot, however, do that which is actually impossible. This is because true impossibility is not based on the amount of power one has, it is based on what is really possible" God is subject to the laws of logic. Therefore the laws of logic are above God.

Mr. Hemant Mehta, one of several reasons the Psalmist David may have said, “ The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God,” (Psalm 14:1, 53:1) is because it is impossible to prove a universal negative. There are other possible reasons for his statement as well. For example:
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that THEY ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE,” (Rom. 1:20) my emphasis added. In short, most rational people admit that design (in nature) requires a Designer (of that nature).
Congratulations on your enlightenment to the fact that you cannot disprove God's existence! Was your enlightened understanding on this issue couched in mocking resignation?
The late Dr. D. James Kennedy stated that it is impossible to prove a universal negative. If you are mockingly implying that a universal negative always is made about something unreal, I have news for you: it is possible to create a universal negative about something that is real as well as about something which is unreal!
The issue is, does something unreal possess the same qualitative type of evidence for its existence as something which is real? As an example, while a flying spaghetti monster is unreal, on the other hand wind, microwaves, radio and TV signals are real. What kind of evidence does an unreal spaghetti monster have for its existence? On the other hand, what kind of evidence does the wind, microwaves, radio and TV signals have for their existence even when they cannot be seen? The answer is that real things have qualitative evidence for their existence which unreal things do not possess. To place the existence of God into the same category as a flying spaghetti monster is a category fallacy based alone on the type of qualitative evidence we find for God’s existence (like hundreds of fulfilled prophecies in the Bible, many of which have come to pass just in the last century, and many more are presently on the verge of complete fulfillment).
To make an understatement, the qualitative evidence for God is obviously superior to the evidence for a flying spaghetti monster, which is why the overwhelming majority of intelligent and intellectually enlightened and intellectually honest people throughout history have preferred theism to atheism.
Hebrews 11:6 states , “… for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
To know God Hebrews 11:6 indicates several things:
    1. A person must believe He exists.
    2. A person must have concluded certain things about His character (He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him).
    3. A person must respond to evidence about God (a person must “seek” Him).
In your fifth of 15 things people “should never say to an atheist,” you answered Paschal’s wager in a partially irrational manner. You stated that if you are wrong, “… Nothing is going to happen to me.”
You could only state that if you have constructed your own god. You appear to be implying that if there is a God, that god will not be concerned either about being recognized or ignored, nor about being either mocked or honored by his creatures! That approach appears to indicate you have manufactured your own god (idolatry) in your backup plan just in case you are wrong. That is an obvious miss about the character of the real God discernible through the “Bible” of nature (“… he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him,” Heb. 11:6). That rationalizing approach also seems to be indicating that you are claiming, “If there is a god, I am not afraid of the god I have created or hypothesized.”
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,” (Psalm 111:10).
You claim you are being honest, and that you do not believe. Are you certain you are being honest where it really matters, with yourself? Or are you holding a delusion, and are you lying to yourself for whatever reason?
With someone as open about your atheism as you are, I suspect you have already heard more than enough compelling reasons to believe. Perhaps you do not feel you have a need for God? You stated your life would be the same with or without Him. Then I have some advice. It has been said, “There are no atheists in foxholes.” It may be that in some personal crisis experience you will one day realize you really do have a need for God. If that happens, all you have to do is accept His freely offered gift of eternal life given through His Son (John 3:16).

Hey - I'm a Christian, and I just wanted to say that was a very fair, and reasonable argument. I believe in God because because he has revealed himself to men, and proved his power over nature by the resurrection at Easter. This is an event noted in history. But I also believe there is a first mover of the universe. You mentioned the question of where the universe came from, and I would ask that you investigate that question further. Ok, so there might be theories, or even one day proof, of the events that brought about our universe. But what made those events happen? Why is anything happening at all? Existence is self-proving. That something is in motion is self-proving of the fact that something set it in motion. God is the first mover. God is existence. I think any reasonable atheist should at least be able to follow the logic of this argument (I probably did not articulate it very well).
Another argument I like to use for the existence of something other than the physical world is the reality of the moral (or natural) law. Where does this come from?

It's ironic that you would try to diminish the quality of ones life to better suit your own, considering this is what you feel Christians do by evangelism. I agree that some christians get it wrong. A lot more than others. However, don't ever let the actions of a few, reflect the entire populous. Some of these Christians come from a place of crazy love. Love is foundation of what Christianity is about. Unfortunately those Christians who follow their own agendas instead of God's, diminish the merits of this religion (and the people who do it right) for people like yourself. I respect your beliefs and will never say to you, "you gotta accept Jesus Christ as your savior or you're going to hell." Because truthfully, These Christians are in more danger of this fate than you. My job, my role in this body is to just present you with the information. I cannot change a man, for I am only a man, But it is God's job to change you. If I try to, I act as God's mouth, and turn you off from me AND Him. But the two commands God gives us that are greater than any other is "Love your God, with all of your strength, heart, and soul. And to Love your neighbor as yourself." If you satisfy one you will also satisfy the other. Unfortunately, this principle is lost because people cherry pick the rules that they feel like they agree with while omitting others that they don't. Herein lies the problem. I'm sorry for ranting, but a lot of Christians who do good for others to serve God, don't get a fair shake because of those who do it wrong. It's like saying all black people are killers and thieves. Or all Muslims are terrorists. It's just not true.

I am an atheist, but I agree with you. Being a former christian myself, of course you can't simply say that because one christian treated you unfairly, all of them are terrible people. That's called being stupid.
However, there is a reason that we atheists don't believe in God, and I know for me, it's got nothing to do with how Christians have treated me. I love Christians, they're my friends, my family, I've grown up in church and I still attend (despite being an atheist). For me, it's the uncertainty of it all, the lack of evidence and the very faulty foundations of the bible and the existence of Jesus that brought me up to reality. I could be wrong, I'm still trying to work it out, but I am atheist. Who knows, maybe in 60 years when I am nearing death I will embrace some religion just because I actually believe it, but for now, that kind of outcome is looking to be very slim.

And you would then be the crazy guy on the streets throwing rocks at suspected gay people saying "GOD HATES GAY" then you would most likely get arrested and put in a crazy house. You dont even know your own religion. I am a former catholic and christian. I read and researched my own religion. Theres a reason i am atheist. Dont act like you have it right and the others dont. And you are wrong about the whole love thing. Jesus states
"Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me."
You are suppose to love Jesus more then anyone else. And loving him more then anyone means you dont care about anyone as much as him . So stoning gays is OKAY because you dont love them as much as you love jesus. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Learn your own religion bro.

The concept of god likely evolved from the mystery of death. The ancients must have wondered ; "How is it something/someone is alive and then they aren't alive". There must have been a lot of fear (as there is now) associated with nonexistence and death. So how do you resolve those mysteries and concerns? You make up a situation where death doesn't really happen. You invent a soul (spirit), afterlife and then a god to control it all.
It puts the mind at ease. Personal death becomes less of a daily concern and the loss of loved ones less painful. When you think of it, it's a great relief....you might say a blessing. But that doesn't affect its truthiness. God and spirits and the afterlife are things humans made up. If they weren't causing death and destruction on a daily basis, it might even be a good thing.

It's not necesserly true that you have to be an atheist just because you don't believe in God.You could be an agnostic, which I describe like:
    Atheist + Humility + Respect = Agnostic
Be an agnostic. You believe in what has been proven until something else comes up, but at the same time, you are down to earth. Instead of saying ''God doesn't exist'', you say ''I don't know if God does or doesn't exist, but I don't think he does until there's proof. Because honestly, everyone should be like this. I don't get it, just because you don't believe in God, what makes you think that you have the right to say that he doesn't exist? If you can't disprove God's existence, then you can't say he doesn't exist.

    • @TheHollomap
      @TheHollomap Před 10 lety +14

well how most people define it:
Agnostic: lack of knowledge of God. ie. I do not know if God is real.
Atheist: lack of belief in a God. ie. I do not believe in God.
I am an agnostic atheist. Therefor I do not know if God exists.... hell he might, even if the probability is extremely minuscule! But I am not going to believe in a God when I have no knowledge of him or evidence for him.
Both agnostic and Gnostic thought and atheist and theist thought. have to do with the answering of two completely different questions. Why is it so hard for people to understand this.

    • @PrideTracks86
      @PrideTracks86 Před 10 lety +2

Being an atheist doesn't necessarily mean that a person is sure there is no god. We just don't believe there is a god. I don't think there is a way to prove that god doesn't exist, but since I haven't seen evidence of his existence, I don't believe. It is entirely possible to be both agnostic and an atheist. I actually think we get a little too caught up on the labels sometimes.
Many atheists are open to the proposition of god and would change views if there was more proof in favor of him. I think few atheists would say that they believe without a doubt that there is no god. Some atheists lack humility, but that could be said for any group of people. Many of us are open-minded, though.
I see the answer to your equation differently:
Atheist + Humility + Respect = Respectful atheist who is willing to consider the perspectives of other people :-)

Now, the problem with what you are saying is you cant prove God exists but you cant prove that other invisble things dont exist ither.... Well God is alot more than someone you can't see, if you want to be scientific then you can't have a creation without a creator for 'scientifically' that's impossible
So therefore something must have caused this perfect existance to happen and you are being warned dear friend there is only one way, and that is Jesus he is the way the truth and the life.
If you want to be certain of this yourself then just for one moment of your life that could change your entire purpose just go on your knees, imagine what if Jesus was real? And so you run and hide when confronted with the FACT that you worship an evil god. Sad really. But the truly pitiful thing is that you will ignore all facts and continue to worship the imaginary and evil Jehovah rather than admit you have been wrong all these years.

Why did god make the great flood. Because of the sin in the world. God doesnt make mistakes right? Then why did he flood the world? He was wrong to thats why he promised to never flood the world again. In deuteronomy the bible says that if a girl is raped she has to marry the rapist. In exodus, it says you can beat your slave as long as he heals in 2 days. In 1st Corinthians it says women cannot speak in church. Also in 2nd kings theres a story of your "God" sending 2 bears mauling 42 children to death becaude they made fun of a bald guy. Is ANY of that just?

As a Christian, I'd just like to bring up one thing.
The Bible. 66 books, 40 writers, and written over 1,500 years, yet it still maintains the same message throughout. How can 40 people in such a large time span produce writings with the same biblical message of God? Why do the new testament manuscripts coincide so well with the old testament? As the Bible was written by those who witnessed the events it describes, why were some willing to be martyred rather than discredit their own supernatural experiences?
Honestly wondering what you guys think about this, respectfully.

Hi my name is Myla and I was miraculously healed by a faith healer when I was 10. Since then, I have never doubted GOD'S Love for his people. I was prayed over and touched by healing hand through someone who was blessed by God to heal in his name. So, there you go..whenever a thought would come through and make me doubt God's existence, there's a question and only one answer that comes to my head, Then who healed me then? Your guess is as good as mine! So herman, I believe you're a smart guy. YOu know the answer RIGHT?

not quite - actually as more we explain there is more out there what we can attribute to god. each explanation tends to open up more questions.

Let's say there is a God. He's responsible for the Bible, right? Maybe not directly, but he's responsible for it. So why are there other religions? If he's God, why didn't he voice this religion everywhere? "God" created EVERYTHING on this earth, correct? Well, guess what. He created other religions. Why would he do that? Now people are praying to a different God, that in your religion, doesn't exist. This is just one of the small things that don't add up.

Did anyone think to define "God" before asking or answering the question? Is each deity of each religion the same thing as "God"? No. God is more like an Explanation than a Being. "Godness" is what Hemant is talking about.
If we are asking about divine Beings, then those are the various deities that religions favor, only one of which is Yahweh. Can we disprove Zeus? Oden? I think we can.
Rephrased, the question might be, "Can you disprove any or all of the individual gods of the various religions as recorded in their approved texts?" The answer to this is an unequivocal affirmative. All of them had characterizations and addresses which we can prove, or already have proved, to be false.
