A few clips of the midtown i75/i85 corridor during rush hour in Atlanta, Georgia. Filmed using Nikon D850. atlanta.timelapse@gmail.com www.atlantatimelapse.com
People who are not from Atlanta or any congested city would call this traffic insane. Atlantans and people in congested cities would call "Wednesday Morning"
MARTA's been trying to expand further out into the suburbs for decades now. Mostly White suburbanites keep voting it down because they don't want you know who using MARTA trains to get out to where they live.
@@gacaptain exactly. They say it's to keep the criminals away, which makes no sense because criminals can use cars if they're that desperate to go to the burbs. Like you said, we know the real reason they keep resisting expansion of public transportation.
@@apexone5502 For most American cities racism was a factor in how they were laid out and designed. The more Black people in the city the more obvious this is. And Atlanta has always had a lot of Black people.
It's not really that crowded, it's just poorly designed. You can't build a metro area as sprawled out as Atlanta with almost 6 million people, and funnel them all through one chokepoint, the Downtown Connector, without creating serious congestion.
This is surreal watching this video because when I had a layover in Atlanta I took the subway and walked around downtown with no car and it felt so empty.
Something about the metro Atlanta area is poorly designed because most of this traffic is not going into downtown but through it. And in fact downtown Atlanta is a ghost town 24 hours basically.

It stays backed up from the Rome exit to the center of Macon now. Exit 290 to Exit 160.
They NEED a better train system ASAP.
Train system is ok. Outsiders move there and screwed up the city

Not crowded. Politics and racism causes sprawl
This is so when we complain about traffic in Atlanta they know we ain't joking!
This gave me anxiety
God damn that’s a lot of people. I’m from Birmingham.
👍 Really cool.
Nice video! If only the people in the cars move that fast it’ll be much better lol
