Heard that she never liked and did not want "Go Set a Watchman" to be published. Her lawyer found it in a safety box after Harper's sister Alice died, who was Harper's Power of Attorney. Lawyer tricked Harper to publish the book just a year or so before she died. Of course, she didn't need the money. I guess the lawyer needed some new bling..

@@stickitupyourasteric Only partially true. The story in its entirety was Lee's; however, before she went silent she admitted in an interview that during the rewrites she and Hohoff, her editor from Lippincott Publishing, often brainstormed various chapters and events of the novel on her sofa saying that when they had disagreements half the time she won and half the time Hohoff did. Hohoff did not rewrite Lee's work, but rather made suggestions regarding the presentation. This is what ANY editor would do. That's their job. I do believe that the book as we know it would never have been as good without Tay Hohoff's influence, though I think that might also be said for many famous authors whose editors get little or no recognition. I think the best way to put it is: _Watchman_ is an example of what _To Kill A Mockingbird_ might have been without Hohoff.
