I ran Orion stuff my entire life and I agree with you it's the best sounding most powerful gets a little hot sometimes the old stuff but still the best out there
If an Orion amp is getting hot...usually you need to step up the voltage, with either more amperage or larger gauge wire.
I was in complete awe when I finally tried my first Orion 250hcca in 1991 after going through Hifonics, Linear Power and Fosgate. I never looked back. I ended up running a 225hcca, 2- 250hcca, 1- 2100hcca. The only other brand I tried that satisfied my taste in power and sound quality in the mid 90s were the Phoenix Gold MS2125 & MS2250. I finished my early 2000s with Phoenix Gold Ti 500.4 and Ti 1200.1 running Titanium Elite components and subs before giving it up for home theater. Miss it sometimes 👍🏽💯

I agree. In the 90’s when car audio was at its prime, I purchased a used four channel Orion amp. That thing rocked my XTR 12. My go to songs were Culture Club- Do you really want to hurt me and DJ Joe Cooley-Everlasting Bass.👍🏻👏🏻✌🏼
Gain is not a volume knob...its used to match the input voltage coming in from your source.
Everyone...literally everyone knows that. BUT...turning DOWN the gain(which is what Mike said) will allow you to run speakers that cannot handle the rated power safely. Apparently this is something YOU didn't know.

All the amps you mentioned are great amps. Another one I highly recommend checking out are some Kenwood excelon amps. Not as much power, but sound great and put out a decent amount of power for their price. Especially their 4 channel amps

I just started watching your channel because I like the speaker tests. However on this video I would likle to explain to you what the gain potentiometer on a amplifier has no level, IE 30% up. The gain is dependent on what the voltage your RCAs are, A really nice head unit will have ~4v preouts, so the gain will need to be set for 4v at max (clean) volume level on the source unit.

It doesn't matter if the gain is at 60% mark in order to clip. The gain is not a volume control. You can clip the amp by clipping your input signal.
Lol u kill me when u say experiment. It sounds like you are saying excrement. As far as amps, you dead on correct . There is a lot of good brands , but for the money, Orion is definitely the best.
I like audiopipe for the price and Rockford Fosgate punch for the sound quality.

If I had money I'd get a handmade Italian amplifier, they sound so good it's a different world, for highs. For bass the list is expandable.

Orion hcca amplifiers are definitely the best of the best and I have tried just about every other brand out there you can get a higher quality SQ amplifier from like focal or Audio Dynamics or Macintosh but for subwoofers and getting clean power that is very very efficient Orion is the best

Ampere amps is where it's at ! They rate the wattage at 12v not 14v like most bigger name amps that are up top with Ampere

I had the Orion HCCA 1200.2 i used it to run 6 Rockford Fosgate Punch Pro 6.5" then swapped out the speakers to the DS18 Pro X 6BM on the same power the DS18 were 3 times louder ive got a few videos on my youtube channel you can check out and comment with questions I LOVED that Orion amp and the DS18 speakers my next build will be all DS18

Im so pissed at myself for not getting that hcca 8k for under 1k and i didn't buy it about 6 months or so back. yes i couldn't believe he wants like 1600 bucks now for it! I was wondering if anyone else besides me seen that same shit. I couldn't believe what a fucking rip off! I hate when they do that. And yes everyone got checks and time off so they drove up the prices on car audio on Amazon and every where else. I am also a huge fan of Orion too bro.
