Just my guess. I bet that B series did a few test passes at the track. To get the feel of the car. Low boost settings not having the short track all the way figured out. They posted the times. The crew with the nitro car"not NA" seen the time slip and already knew they were/are faster. Then made the race happen knowing they were going to win.

All motor nitro car probably makes about the same power and weighs less plus the coupe look like more of a street car and wasn’t on a full slick. Any way the awd car needed about another car and a half 😂
