Detective Novelist Sharath was a figment of my imagination while I conceived him. I had clearly told him that he may not see the light of the day outside my computer ☺ This was purely done as an acting experiment, just another crazy trip I would embark on.
But when I put him online, in the first part, “What is Your Fear?” he gathered a lot of reactions that were encouraging and overwhelming. Suddenly, Detective Novelist Sharath was alive and there was a lot of curiosity around him. Many stopped me on my way and asked, “Will we be seeing more of him? His eccentricities were charming, Wonder what’s going on in his life” etc.
This was exciting and inspiring for me! The art of filmmaking is not an easy craft, and when you have to handle all aspect of the same single handedly, it is an adrenalin rush like no other!
As they say, in art we fail more often than we win. But, each time we attempt, that is a victory in itself. So, here it is, my second attempt. The story was built around a real life snippet narrated by friends over lunch. I would love to hear your comments, feedbacks and critiques on this. That would be my fuel for the next one! Even though I know that this is a short clip made by my friend, from the first scene onwards I was "into it". I should admit that this 7 and a half minutes has spooked the living daylights out of me! The screenplay and the music is as good as a Stephen King movie for this budget! Priyan.... Hats off!
