WHO AM I:
I'm Jay- an RN, creator, athlete, and student of life from Minnesota, USA.
My mission is to empower others to live a more adventurous, healthy, joyful, and fulfilling life.
I am fascinated with the human body and how we can optimize to function at the highest level possible. Special interests in functional medicine, longevity, nutrition science, and holistic view to health. I strive to deeper understand the connection between the mind, body, and spirit.
I grew up playing sports all day, every day. I played football, basketball, and ran track in high school, playing a bit of basketball at the collegiate level. Ran a marathon. I have always been a hard worker, and I will continue to pursue challenges, play sports, get outside, mtn bike, ski, etc.
I love to travel and experience the world.
Howdy y’all 🤠 thanks fo hanging out !!! YOU BETTER SCROLL UP TO THAT LIKE BUTTON AND SMASH TF OUT OF IT
The part about the little girl made me tear up. I was in the hospital for a pseudoparkinsonian reaction to a medication when I was 7. I was there for weeks and it was extremely traumatic. It was the nurses that 100% made the experience and I believe they saved me from developing ptsd. As an adult I've been in the hospital a few times, and the nurses that I had would make or break my mindset when I was going through those health emergencies. I am so thankful for the nurses who realize how important they are for the emotional health of their patients. And I feel for the nurses who have forgotten that due to being over worked and over stressed.
I just resigned from my bedside job. I’ve been wanting to get healthier. I was working night shift, but going back to days has me hopeful.
I do this often! The bonuses are great and if you adjust your tax withholding and invest in your retirement fund and HSA it’s a great way to get ahead
That’s smart move to adjust the withholding
Yes sir.👏🏽
Thanks for your work and sacrifices ❤..
Just subscribed to you, recently moved over to UC and work every other weekend (with the option of working extra shifts if I wanted in between grad school) glad I found your channel! please keep the content coming!
I love your vidoes, they inspire me so much. Please keep making videos and keep making a difference!
Zach thank you my man !!!
Just discovered your channel, Im a rising sophomore in college and have been debating between a nursing or exercise science major. Currently taking EMT training this summer to get a feel of the healthcare environment, planning on doing some nursing shadowing aswell. I’m finding your videos super inspirational and am shocked that you don’t have more subscribers. I agree with so much of what you say relating to health/mindset and your opinions on how broken the healthcare system currently is. Looking forward to your next video, keep it up!
Glad you’re here! I actually wanted to do exercise science and kinesiology and it’s still a passion of mine. Thanks for being here my man
I'm always amazed when I see how nice other UC units are. The patterned floor and walls. Your equipment looks new and your work station is big. You have a Dynamap on the wall?
Dynamaps in almost every room. This clinic and urgent care are pretty new as of I think 3 years ago so they went with a little modern touch! Haha so probably will look this way for the next 20 years lol
Fellow ED RN here! Thank you for your reminding me to embrace the rewards. Also, what was that song at the end? Thanks! :)
Thanks for watching Angela 🤠🤠 it’s shimmer by volo !
Wow that’s a lot of boiled eggs
Hahah Kaylea who doesn’t love boiled eggs
If I walk usually I don't listen to music, I sing but sometimes I'm out of breath because singing requires a lot of breathing even when singing almost inaudibly so I have to walk slower. I think I'm the only one who does that.
You’re funny! Tee hee. Why am i still on nights?!?
If you haven't done so already can you make a video talking about your admissions journey getting into nursing school, TEAS, GPA, volunteering etc
My journey was boring. I was pre-accepted to my colleges nursing program due to high school ACT score and GPA being high enough. so freshman year of college I just had to maintain a certain gpa and then I was accepted. Didn’t need TEAS. I volunteered in hs and was a captain in all my sports and was in various different things like choir and captains and leaders club but I honestly don’t think that matters that much. Just need good pre req grades
@@JayFriedrichs thanks for the response, I wish I would’ve done that in hs!
I work overnights, bedside still. I can’t stop sleeping through my days off! But I have lost 20 pounds just cutting coffee 😩. I miss drinking coffee!
Our hospital also unionized and set up a one day strike since we haven’t been able to bargain a contract, and the hospital locked us out an additional three days. Those strike nurses made $5200 for 4 days apparently.
Try coffee with protein instead of creamer!! And night shift killed me I couldn’t do it
Yah, I need those push ups too😭
Drop and give me 10!!!
@@JayFriedrichs YES ✅ from tonight on..💪🏼💪🏼
were you able to buy the house and car with your nursing money alone? Congrats on the success, love your vids
This town home is a rental and I have a roomie, and currently lookin for a new apartment which I talk about little further on into the video. Student loans are the worst part hahah. Rent and student loans are biggest culprits.
Were you able to do ALOT of your schooling online?
No mine was all in person right after graduating I went into a bsn
I thought you said you were not interested in doing 12 hour shifts anymore
you using AG1?
Yessir!
'promo sm' 🌸
Didn't you say that you decided to quit nursing?
Lol no it was just a video about why I quit my inpatient job 🙄
