Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will participated virtually in the Christchurch Call to Action Leaders’ Summit, representing the United States as the newest signatory to the pledge. Convened jointly by New Zealand and France, the summit brings together leaders from signatory governments, tech companies, and civil society to discuss efforts to address terrorist and violent extremist content online. Secretary Blinken discussed U.S. efforts to prevent the misuse of the internet for terrorist purposes while upholding the freedoms and protections afforded by the Constitution.
