- Performed by the Providence Singers, at their spring 2018 concert "Of Sea and Sky." Christine Noel conducting.
"Long Road" is a setting of a love poem by Paulīna Bārda (widow of the eminent Latvian poet Fricis Bārda), who lived to the age of ninety-three and yet observed, “I mourn for this one thing alone, That to love, our lifetime was too short.” Gentle bell sounds and the murmuring of soprano recorders evoke distant starlight and the wistful contemplation of a love no longer within reach. - Hudba
Another exquisite performance by the Providence Singers of this gorgeous piece
