Good question! It does not matter what type of water you use. For the experiment, I used natural spring water because that’s what I had on hand.

You can use any type of oil. Vegetable oil would be the most cost effective though.

It will last for as long as the tablet lasts, but you can add tablets over and over again

You can use baking soda but you would also have to add vinegar to cause the reaction that forms the bubbles

How long does it last?

Hello! Depending on the tablet, anywhere from
30 seconds to several minutes. After each use let the oil and water separate again and you can add more tablets.

Great question! Oil is less dense than water. When you mix them the oil will rise and the water will stay at the bottom.
