Arriving in Liverpool after 9pm for the first time I was quite shocked by how many tents and camps there were between Lime Street and our hotel. It’s great that you’re using your channel to bring awareness and offer help and support too ❤

It's such a hard process to get someone through detox and rehab, and into a programme where community reintegration is practised. Also, in terms of housing, you have to ensure that you aren't setting someone up to fail so they lose their tenancy. There is also a cycle of addiction, criminality and homelessness that's really difficult to break. While not everyone is in this rut, a percentage of the guys I worked with said they had no addictions before they had to live on the streets.
This is all the result of the governmentental incumbents 15 years ago withdrawing funding to this sector. Will it change? Probably not. They really don't care.
I'm glad you're doing this and haven't given up, Kev. It's so important to keep raising this issue repeatedly. The powers that be cannot be allowed to forget.

Them teams are just making the problem even worse by the looks of it. Just think if people are handing them out food and essentials etc everyday then it’s just going to attract even more people and any money they would of needed to use on food etc will be getting used on spice etc it’s obvious

Yes that’s true. They sleep in the day because one man said to me because he got some help and he was in the hotel. He said they don’t sleep at night because people are more violent to them and he said that once a man pissed all over him and beer on him And he wasn’t asleep. He was just sitting in the doorway isn’t it? Hopefully something can be help 😱😱

unfortunately the influx of 'economic migrants' from africa totally does these guys no favours ..-they are organised into begging groups , they have a roof over their heads and work in a very ordered manner ...-its sick the way our so called 'government' has betrayed the real inhabitants of this country . . . .!

It's very sad and great you're showing the true impact and devastation drugs is causing everywhere but here on our doorstep. Everyone has a story I wish it would register that a temporary high and fix is a possible lifetime of suffering not only for the addicts but for their families and the local communities because of the crime it causes . Helps out there who wants to live this sort of lifestyle. There are addicts on scripts who now live normal lives , I sound like I'm full of condemnation, I genuinely wish these individuals would see the light and live normal lives mainly for their own sake no person should live like this and partly for their families and the community reducing crime . These people do deserve help but if these individuals don't accept it, that's a choice any person needs to want to help themselves .

Its so sad how many people are in this situation, whether its their own fault or because of unfortunate circumstances.
As you know Kev, we help a lot of homeless Vets, and generally they're in a better situation than the other homeless guys that are out there, but it is still really sad to think about the guys who are out there and who feel like their only way to escape the terrible situation, is to take drugs, especially that Spice.
Spice is absolutely horrendous, and having seen quite a few documentaries about how much it ruins peoples lives, it breaks my heart to see these young lads and ladies ruining their lives for a high that is absolutely destroying their bodies.
Thanks for bringing this to the light Kev, its necessary for the wider public to see just how horrendous this situation is

Towns just gone to the dogs unfortunately, don't even really go anymore. The spirit of it is gone. It's frightening that there are more and more tents popping up. It wasn't that long ago that all you used to get was the occasional beggar and people selling the big issue. The council have got a lot to answer for, they don't care about the people of Liverpool, all there arsed about is students and tourists etc.
