Bill u never got the recognition u should have, but u always have from me and countless people music that woke us all up an shall forever remain
I worked on this album and it never left me - Bill has magic and inventiveness seldom seen. I helped him build his Echo Observatory studio at his house and recorded several more albums and singles (plus there was a band tour in '84 of this music and Getting The Holy Ghost Across). I am so pleased to see how respected and appreciated Bill's anti-commercialism and ingenius projects live on - Shine on! ;~}
great
Not just seldom seen; I'd venture to say it's only been seen this once.
Another Brilliant album from Bill Nelson! His music will always be in my heart with such admiration.
I bought this when it came out being a huge fan of BeBop. Forward, I have listened to this album thousands of times. I have roughly 7000 Cd"s, a couple thousand cassettes and many lps,.. this ranks in my top ten.
This album discovered me in the late 80's, and I've never let go. I think it's one of the most brilliant albums of all time.
10/10 album
This album always put me in trance. Stunning tune who give me a moment of a winter day when you walking in the snow and the sun gives you energi move on to springtime.
What an amazing musician ! Bill has always been 1 of my favourite artists since the days of Bebop Deluxe ! Too bad his extraordinary talent has never been appreciated as it should !
been listening to this album for the best part of 25 years and i never tire of it. . . . .
sublime! thanks for sharing.
Thanks very much for posting this! I owned and constantly played this album all throughout the end of the '80s. Am just now getting into Be Bop Deluxe, but have always been a huge Bill Nelson fan. Wish that more people appreciated him and his wonderful sense of musical artistry...
Bill has such vision.music ill never forget.
You are a lucky man, I have worked with many of my heroes over the years, but not Bill. He is probably the greatest single musical influence on me and my career. Thank god for him!
and this album came to me somewhere early 80th... Big bang !
Very cool. Portrait Of Jan is my personal favorite. The piano is beautiful. Of course, the entire album is flawless.
I couldn't agree more with you Tazz.
"Portrait of Jan with flowers" is simply a track of pure beauty 🧡
Now, here's a man with a vision.......
One of my all time fave albums....cheers!!
Awesome work, never ever get tired of listening to eat....too bad more people don't get to hear it.
superbe beau montage felicitation et merci
I used to joke that he'd apparently sold his soul to the devil. Not for commercial success, but for the ability to make the music HE wanted to make album after album, regardless of whether or not anyone else cared about it. I'm still in awe of his talent.
DAZZLING
I had this album back then but moved around a lot and lost it in the process. Always rated it very highly and great to be reacquainted with these bits of it. The short instrumentals are so moving. I seem to remember there was a track called The Bride of Christ in Autumn, wasn't there? Any chance of posting that?
