I bought the Sony a7C out of necessity, a stop-gap during the eternal longing for the Sony a7iv. Nonetheless, I got a great deal of use out of it, and it certainly proved itself in the world of wedding filmmaking during my busiest summer to date. Now it's been sold, here's my thoughts after 6 months of use.

What's one feature in your Sony camera that you couldn't live without?
I use the a7siii my self for a lot of commercial work, I picked this up as a b cam/ good cam to go out and take pictures with, paired with a 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm it’s a really solid choice for photography, the video side there’s features lacking but it’s definitely a good cam to start with or pick up for an extra angle. Definitely see it’s issues but I’d have to admit it’s a good camera.
Always been tempted to go and check one of these out in person. Nice to hear your thoughts on it. Cheers Ben.
Worth a play with! I'd say far more worthwhile for video over photo, but a nice little camera nonetheless 💁♂️
My friend bought this camera, i’ve tested it. My main camera is ZV1.. i just love a7c. But am considering a7iv or move GH5 II or GH6. Still thinking.. but thanks for the input.
a7C is a great upgrade to the ZV1, very underrated camera!

I looked through EVF and it's appalling for Sony on a FF camera.
It's all cost cutting 💁♂️ for video it's not really an issue
Agree, its like a $2 viewfinder on a $2000 camera
Wont the 50p crop annoy you on the A74 or are you shooting 1080p.
PS: CB is a great feature much underated, I used it on a ZV1.
I shoot a lot at night, so live view is absolutely essential to me. I know the a7c has that feature, but the lack of the front dial, minimal function buttons and view finder are the real detractors for me personally on this camera. I hope Sony adds a mark ii version addressing these issues, otherwise it’s the a7iv as my next camera.
Adding those features would give you an a7iii 💁♂️ a7iv is on another level so far, I wouldn't even put them in the same category. Very solid upgrade on all counts
@@FamauMedia That’s true - I’m just wondering if that will be the point, to get a lower priced, compact full-frame since the a7iv is not necessarily “economical” given its features.
It looks like a great camera, I’ll probably purchase once I sell both my current cameras, the a7iii and a7riii
