I took it "it feels like deja vu" part not as him being reminded of his own past, but going through the portal feeling like deja vu because he saw it in the vision the star showed him, which is the part with the "blinding light" he mentioned! By the way, if you're interested in covers as well, I highly recommend checking out Luca Kaneshiro's cover of Mafia, it's amazing! I also recommend Enna Alouette's (A Capella) covers, her voice is incredible :)
Each member of Noctyx has their own lore but all of them end in them traveling through a portal to the past/our time (all having been from a terrible future) so when Uki says that “it feels like déjà vu” when he’s looking at the portal he created I interpret that as he’s finally after so many years feeling the excitement, joy, or hope for a better life again having been given another chance at a good one.

The problem you hade with Stuck in the abyss has nothing to do with their lore but everything to do with Nijisanji since they're not a talent compony like Cover with Hololive, or allows the talent to do their thing like Vshojo which is owned by the guy who created Twitch, Nijisanji didn't give time to the members to pick their parts that is also why certain members are better singers than others Uki got the rap section even though he never did anything like that before. Most of the members of Nijisanji EN have said they didn't get to choose their parts or had never sung before and they basically said that they only got one take Lazulight said that they didn't know that their song was going to be altered by making their voices deeper add to that Pomu wanted to retake her part but the management said no they have even said that they can't replicate the deep tone version because that version was edited to be deeper than their actual voices.
I wonder if the straightforwardness of the narrative in the lyrics reflects this newfound clairvoyance? That pure power from the other side has lifted away all the obscurity of metaphor or oblique language.

Maybe you’re just used to the rhyming lyrics, after listening to songs that don’t rlly rhyme I’ve gotten kind of used to it😅
It's also not a typical sing-song, it's meant to be a story told in a singing voice
