I love this chapter. Zoro kinda gives the message "I'm your match, you don't deserve to be my captain's opponent anymore" to Lucci.

I see this type of comment everywhere, but all Kizaru did to the Strawhats back then was stepping on Zoro after hitting him once and dodge the attacks of Brook and Usopp.
The ones who messed up the Strawhats were the Pacifistas and Sentomaru.

@@RonaldMoreira123 Technically, no. Reyleigh was taking care of Kizaru, they would have been killed by Sentomaru and the Pacifistas. Not that I disagree with the fact that Kizaru should have left a big impression on them, but that's just because I see so much comments that seem to forget what actually happened.
Haven’t watched the whole thing yet so I don’t know if Tekking mentions it or not, but Luffy starting things off against Kizaru with a kick just like Rayleigh back in Sabaody had me HYPED. Also a callback to what Shakky said about Rayleigh being 100 times stronger than them back then. I am SO proud of the crew.

Kizaru has gotten better as a character so far imo. His characterization has been good. He really didn’t want to do it, but ya know, he’s a cog of the world government. The flashback with him and Sento is wholesome. He even called him cute. He’s upset but he can’t let those emotions get in the way of his mission. His character is good. It fits his Justice. I’m curious what is conversation with Luffy is gonna be like
Better? No. We only saw how he would react if he had to face former friends. He is still the same Kizaru and it didn’t improve him socially nor physically or mentally
I think that's the point. How do we determine bad from good? He doesn't want to do these things, but he has to uphold justice. So is holding on to your convictions more important than those who are important to you? And if so is that really the "right" choice? Either way you lose something/someone. Which choice would you rather live with?

In this story there’s truly no good or evil but characters acting on their motivations,their goals,their dreams,based on this pasts. Not changing the characters in any way shape or form.

I love how Luffy was seen eating in this panel. Where it’s not his usual gorging but he is actively listening and keeping up with the developing situation. This shows how serious he takes the situation as he is not eating recreationally but stockpiling for the coming fight. He knows how dangerous Kizaru is and remembers what happened the last time the crew faced him and takes him seriously even calls him by his name.
Akainu grabbing a person by the mouth and filling them with magma, either exploding them or making the magma come out the other end and pinning them to the ground, turning them into a statue would be some sick mortal kombat finishers. Aokiji's would just be a skin of subzero.
His fatality could be called Volcanic Diarrhea 😂💀 Picks them up by their face with one hand - In the mouth and out the butt. 🔥

Other than the time Shanks Dominate green bull with his Haki, Luffy vs Kizaru is the first time since Marineford that we are seeing a Yonko and Admiral fighting.
Greenbull has been relieved of his admiral duties. He gets the title back when he redeems himself
I hate people judging characters of one fight but I'm not trying to look bad defending the only admiral with a quotes like "you have no rights" and "don't let the slaves get away"

About the authority chips: I don't think every marine has one, I always had the impression that kizaru just took Sentomaru's chip and used that to command the Pacifistas.
As long as people don’t take Luffy saying that they are 100 times stronger than two years ago as a power multiplier and not a figure of speech
I think it's a callback from Shakky's statement saying Rayliegh is 100x stronger than them. Luffy is saying that he's on that level now.

@@davidortiz3094 Where and when in the manga/anime did Kizaru stated that he need preparations to take on Rayleigh? Rayleight was out of breath just after fighting Kuzaru for awhile, dude was old and out of shape while Kizaru seem to be fine.
Unlike Lucci that just wants to kill Luffy out of pettiness for having lost to him, Kaku seems to genuinely respect Zoro as a warrior and swordsman. Obviously it was smart for Sanji to just immediately take him out of the fight, but I feel like Kaku is actually clueless about Lucci's betrayal because Lucci was speaking to someone in private and Kaku was confused about what he was doing and Lucci didn't seem to clue Kaku in on it.
And I feel like Lucci is massively underestimating Zoro. He thinks since Luffy could barely beat him 2 years ago that there is no way Zoro can handle him. If only he knew that Zoro permanently scarred Kaido and tanked a combination attack from him and Big Mom, recovered from that in a little bit and then proceeded to 1v1 Kaido's 2nd in command and win.

Kizaru stocks have never been higher. In this chapter alone hes becoming more and more likeable as a character and villain. The fact that he isn't just a government drone and has his own desires and cares for his friends is amazing development in my opinion.
He was always my favorite Admiral. Design, personality, ability, etc. he has it all

One thing about Kizaru: I don't think he can *think* at the speed of light, so his powers don't really make him as untouchable as you seem to think. I mean, sure, he can *move* at the speed of light once his regular speed brain sends a command for his body to move. At least that's the only way to make his fights make any sense, because if his brain could really think and react at the speed of light then *nobody* in the verse would be able to touch him. Otherwise we'd be assuming old Rayleigh can move at the speed of light too (since he was able to prevent Kizaru from going after the SHs in Sabaody) and that Benn Beckman's gun could fire at the speed of light... it just wouldn't make any sense.
Yeah that’s why this whole speed of light is more complicated than it actually is. If things were literal it would be impossible for anyone to actually stop Kizaru but it’s anime after all😂
Don't forget, kizaru is probably one of the few characters who went through the whole marineford arc without any kind of visible injuries. He even faced whitebeard briefly at one point and managed to inflict more dmg to whitebeard and left the scenes unscratched. Akainu and aokiji both have their moment of weakness during marineford but not kizaru.
He is uninjured cause he is smart and sneaky.
Can we talk about how stupid it was for Lucci to attack vegapunk at this time. Like why not wait until atleast the dome is down so it isn’t just Kizaru that is backing you up. He was basically safe until he attacked. The Vegapunks literally already said they need to move quick once the dome goes down.
Lucci overrates his abilities. The Strawhats dealt with stronger opponents in Wano.
Probably thought he might be able to kill vegapunk and survive long enough for backup to arrive since luffy is away and kizaru is coming. Lucci isn't one to sit back and let others do the work, or take defeat easily.
Them needing to move quick is exactly why he did it. Vegapunk being distracted and still was the best chance to kill him. Kizaru is enough backup

I am sure that Sanji is pissed that Stussy got injured protecting Vegapunk but decided to neutralize any potential reinforcements first and leave Lucci to Zoro. Despite how Zoro and Sanji interact with each other they both know the other will have their back when it matters most.
Luffy learned his lesson and even got the first hit on an admiral who's power allows him to move at literal "light-speed" 🧡 Go Luffy GO! I love watching our boy rise like this.

I'm pretty sure those will only work on an island with a climate that can support the bubbles made by World Tree Eve sap. I think that's what Vegapunk based them on. I'm pretty sure it was stated that Egghead Island was modified to support them.

Kizaru moves at the speed of light but he has a wind up period from what we’ve seen. That’s why Raleigh was able to keep at bay when he was going to go after the straw hats at Sabaody.

I dont think kizaru has his own authority chip. He took down sentomaru and kizaru took sentomaru's authority chip. It could still be overwritten by vegapunk or the 5 elders
I'm surprised you didn't comment on the ridiculous line Luffy gave. Back before the time skip Shakky said "He's 100 times stronger than all you boys." in regards to Rayleigh, who was going even with Kizaru. Now Luffy says "We're a hundred times stronger than we were two years ago!" I doubt it was coincidence with Oda that Luffy is boasting to be able to go toe to toe with Kizaru now.
36:05 i must say this is probably the first time in one piece history where Zorro fights with full health against an opponent who is injured. So far Zorro was the one pushing his health insurance before every fight.

Hi, physicist here, so about the mirror, you are mostly right.
So the way it works is that to reflect the light needs to interact with the mirror and that makes the particles in the mirror move in a way that send the light back, most metals will react like that, so it's not an uncommon thing.
The thing is, no interaction like that is perfect, there is always some energy loss to heat.
If you fire a strong enough laser on a mirror, it will reflect some of the light before it will melt but than the light will just push through, the stronger the laser the shorter the time.
I kinda expected Sentomaru to not be a big deal post-timeskip, but his performance against Kizaru in this one chapter is better than what several of the worst generation supernova have managed to do in the entire story.

I imagine it’s less about the frontier dome and more about the fact the orders have to be given through certain means. Like maybe to override a command it has to either be given in person or over a specific radio communication. Like the authority chips the marines have.
There's something about that clash with Kizaru that's kinda special. There wasn't a lot of weight behind it, and Luffy didn't seem like he was there to full power against Kizaru immediately. It's kind of like a reimagining of the Katakuri fight where Luffy will test to see how far he has come since Sabaody.
What if Kizaru is using his light light powers to issue the orders? Since light is a wave and a particle at the same time, I suppose it could be possible, particularly with One Piece physics.
One of the reasons why I have always liked Sanji is that he is really smart, at least compared to the rest of the strawhats. The way he immediately used a bubble gun to take Kaku out of the fight is so strategic. I know Kaku was already injured but he would’ve been a threat.
I'm really glad Oda showed us Sentomaru's backstory with him joining Vegapunk as his bodyguard when he was a kid lol and the color spread looked awesome feasting like we will be watching OPLA tomorrow. Also Rob Gucci that dastardly bastard while Sanji is strapped with the bubble gun and Luffy confronting Kizaru after so long the fight is happening at last saying how they're 100 times stronger plus the back and forth between them was great this is gonna be epic.

Extremely advanced observation haki combined with insane speed is the only way to beat Kizaru. By definition you cannot be faster than Kizaru. But if you predict his movements way ahead of time, you can cut him off wherever he is going provided you are fast enough for that.
Fujitora's fatality could be pretty brutal, turning up the gravity so high the opponent just gets mushed into the ground

As for the force behind Kisaru's hits. If we want to go physics, if he's partially made of light or transiting, his mass would be traded for energy.
If Kizaru ever losses it's going to be contrived the mass of Kizarus leg also increases with his speed so if it was realistic his kick making contact with anything would probably vaporizer the whole Island.
As for Lucci running off he probably still thinks he's on the winning side all long as Kizaru is there
The one thing that gives you a chance in battle against Kizaru is that although his body can move at the speed of light, that same cannot be said for his brain and his processing speed (that we've been shown thus far).

I hope during the fight between Zoro and Lucci. Zoro send a flying slash at Lucci, but he dodged it. The slash continued on toward the ship that Saturn is on. It ends up destroying the ship. The attack made it look like the SH is declaring war on the Gorosei.
16:59 out of the admirals? I think the ones that'd make most sense/be most interesting would be Akainu or Green Bull. They're the most brutal admirals of them all and are the most likely to kill someone for making them mad. Tho between the two, I'd pick Green Bull since his abilities allow for so many cool ideas for fatalities and moves as a whole

Don't take Kizaru's abilities for granted. We don't know if the ability to move at the speed of light is as natural as you make it sound. Why would he even bother naming a technique like Yata no Kagami just to move from one place to another? And even if it was natural, the human brain don't work at the speed of light. His reaction speed should still be the same as anyone.

or he could just increase gravity and watch them turn into strawberry mush
He could also summon hand sized meteors to pierce the opponent, leaving gaping holes, or just crush them slowly with random rubble or just levitate them so high they enter space and their blood starts boiling from the low pressure on a vacuum.

20:40 I believed Kizuru took the Authority Chip from Sentomaru after he was knocked unconscious, and was able to command the Pacifistas to protect the fleet because they saw Kizuru as equal rank as Sentomaru as a Marine authority. Yes, there is a command hierarchy that should lock out Kizuru from giving orders, but I don't think Vegapunk accounted for that loophole.
only if the laser is hot enough can it melt a normal mirror, but in general, reflective surfaces can deal with most light sources (I do know there is one that can pass them I think because of its wave frequency)
I know characters don't get killed often in one piece but I think Lucci has earned it. I'd really love to see zoro finish lucci
I think people don't realize that only 2 people died pre timeskip. Since they entered the new world like 8 to 10 people have died on panel. I understand wanting more but someone dies basically every arc at this point

This is already an incredible payoff that is, like, 10 years (?) in the making.
Kizaru vs. the Straw Hats in Sabaody was such a big turning point in the series (probably the biggest next to Marineford). Seeing Luffy and the others so utterly helpless against Kizaru was a wake-up call that they were far too weak to take on the New World.
Years later, and we come back to the Straw Hats taking on the same foe, as Luffy puts it, "a hundred times stronger."
I don't know how this will pan out, but I'm already satisfied Oda went here before Elbaf and I trust him with how this confrontation with Kizaru and Lucci will pan out.

There could always be a hive mind software situation wherein if you speak to 1 pacifista/seraphim, u speak to all pacifista/seraphim so u don't need all 50 in 1 room but u need at least one. The pacifista could relay orders as an software update patch among each other but the authority chip only works when directly used 🤷

What if Blackbeard shows up with Aokiji and since Kizaru has unclear justice, the justice that Aokiji believes in just takes over. Especially since what Garp was telling him on Hachinosu
One thing I love about Kizaru is anytime he actually takes a direct hit, as soon as the source of the armament has stopped touching him he immediately reverts to his light form thus not taking any damage from the momentum as well as blowing up/damaging the area/people he lands near. So smart

You can melt any mirror with a strong enough laser, though the best mirrors currently have an absorption coefficient of 1 part per million. Yes I googled this after Tekking asked about it, so take with a grain of salt.
It will never cease to amaze me how a section of this comminity downplays the admirals at every turn. Last chapter "Kizaru sucks, Sentomaru got one shot by Lucci but he easily blocked Kizaru, Kizaru sucks!! He's weaker than Lucci!!". And of course the new chapter comes out and Sentomaru stood no chance, even with Kizaru clearly going easy on him.

I agree that Kizaru is way stronger than Lucci, but I do have to wonder how exactly Lucci managed to penetrate his defense so easily. The only way he could have done it in my eyes is by using e.g. ryuo.
Zoro vs Lucci is gonna be raw and I can't wait. No games this time. Now lucci will be able to show his strength against someone who is gonna take the fight seriously

I honestly hope Lucci puts up a good fight. Him putting up a good fight against Zoro would cement him as easily 1st commander tier, which is respectable at least. He’s been losing too much, he deserves better as a villain lol.

Honestly, we think so low of him because he went up against Gear 5, a Power basically made to make fools of opponents (Remember the kaido jump rope?). Seriously, Just watch g5 vs kaido with no context ignoring everything It came before, it makes Kaido look like a chump for half of it.

Well, as far as I can tell they didn't say Vegapunk's authority chip has higher hierarchy than other people's, so I just assumed that you need Vegapunk's specific biological signature to override an authority chip user's command, explaining why it can't work over the radio/psychic wave of the den-den-mushi. So I think of it like this: Authority chip user (not yet sure they were locked by biometrics but it makes sense for there to be an authentification process) can use the waves to issue commands that other users of the same tier cannot override their command, but Vegapunk without the authority chip can issue the override but only in person, so does the Gorousei (could be how the protagonists force Saturn to reveal himself).
It's a nice touch that the Pacifista's control unit looks like their "heart" like when Law takes out someone's heart with his Ope Ope no Mi.
