Natural Building Workshop: Light Straw Clay (Bajareque)

Through a series of Natural Building Workshops in Escamequita, Nicaragua, South of San Juan del Sur, we studied several methods of using clay, sand and straw. In this video we display the technique of Light Straw Clay or Bajareque. At Centro Educativo Suelo Sano, we teach various sustainable living subjects, including permaculture, agroforestry, and natural building.
We are constructing a retreat center where we plan to hold regular spiritual retreats for teaching meditation, qigong, yoga, and healthy living.

It looks like you are building beautiful structures in a lovely way.
But I wonder how well this would stand up to an earthquake. It looks to me like the plaster would fall off of the wall. It looks like it needs more of a wattle lattice to hold it up

I tried that mix for my building. It's anything but fast, takes forever to mix small amounts.

Yes! At last someone else proving the fact that hay is as good as agricultural straw for building with in LCS. It's not straw you're using BTW.
