    Got my tatcoa all black. You would love walking. A bit expensive and I would like to know why they have priced it so high USD200?

    The Velcro it’s gonna drive me up the wall after a few weeks because it’s gonna built up a lot of dust Lynch and you can have a lot of cleaning to do and it won’t lock up too well it’s not gonna hold up it should be a way more cheaper than the traditional models

    Had these just over a year now and they’ve already fallen apart. The material cracked around the rivets on the rear causing the whole buckle to pop out. The strap’s just hanging off, can’t wear it. The same’s happening on the other sandal now and small cracks are appearing in the fabric at other stress points. The seams around both soles are also becoming unstuck. Paid top dollar for these. Disappointing to say the least!! 🤷🏽

  • @Smoula47

    Still the old cork version. ☺The current version with the plastic insole is terrible, the insole is unbreakable, the foot slides when sweating... 😖

      I should of got them when they were cork. I don’t like plastic insoles they make my feet itchy. I learned that when I bought some Natives and they were terrible

      @Smoula47 Před rokem

      @@solomonkane408 Unfortunately, Birkenstock is now pushing a lot on plastic insoles, but I think that customers are not too happy about it and it doesn't make much sense either, cork will always be more comfortable for walking, and those who want to go in the water will find more comfortable sandals designed for that.

    • @rompo
      @rompo  Před 2 lety +1

      still getting used to the curved footbed to be honest as i'm used to wearing flat sandals ever since... so this is not my daily driver as I feel my flat feet would not like it on long walks lol however durability is great. mine is still holding up.

      Had a pair of these for 6 months as a daily driver. They went broke in the cork. Contacted customer service for a warranty errand. Got full refund. Would 100% recommend they have alot of support and where perfect!

    Can you dip this is sea water and not fall apart? Bro the regular Birkenstock's "dies" when you get them wet, especially in sea water. They literally blow up! Strap out, cork soles and rubber soles just take their own separate ways

    • @rompo
      @rompo  Před 2 lety +1

      Yoy're right. I wouldn't dip these in sea water either.. might be better to use those Birkenstocks EVA models

    • @AllanCaeg
      @AllanCaeg Před 2 lety

      Is this much of an issue? Maybe ok if they don’t get wet much?
      Maybe spraying WD-40 will extend the lifespan for years?

      @rompo  Před 2 lety +1

      @@AllanCaeg I haven't experience this one myself so I can't really say.. just one that I have read on one user review. I guess with much care after getting it wet, this shouldn't be a problem.

      honestly still getting used to this arch contoured footbed. Been using Merrells and flat sandals for the longest time. I'm sure once it breaks in (feet included) it'll feel nice.

    Is it better than the leather version?

    • @rompo
      @rompo  Před 2 lety +2

      not sure if it is, but time would tell if this birko flor material would hold up.

    • @savedfaves
      @savedfaves Před 2 lety

      Watching the video I'd say they are not as good as the leather ones. What is welcome (not owning Birks) is the velcro. But I haven't lived with Milano birks to know if needing to buckle one strap when I wear them and remove them would bother me much-as opposed to my current velcro sandals (cheap ones). But the soul does look more durable. Wouldn't mind seeing full leather Birks with a more durable under-soul-the part that hits the road.

  • @Sd-bh5md
    @Sd-bh5md Před 2 lety

    Which is better teva or birkinstock?

    • @rompo
      @rompo  Před 2 lety +2

      Both have different styles and uses. I also like Teva for their durability and style.

    • @savedfaves
      @savedfaves Před 2 lety +1

      I have owned neither, but have tried both from Amazon and the Birk's are more comfortable. Teva straps I don't love. You could live with them and you may get used to the feel of the straps on the top of your feet, but I don't love them. I haven't figured out which Birk's to buy, but the Birk's I tested for a few minutes walking through my home (leather in my case) seem like the much nicer product. The Teva's nylon/canvas straps feel won't change much over time, I'd say (like a rougher seatbelt material) but I suspect the leather Birk's straps would soften right up after a few weeks of use. Durability is another matter. The Teva's may be more durable.
      Though there's more to a sandal than purely how long they last: style, comfort and fitted design are also important and the Birk's are arguably better in all of these areas. The original Birk's weak point is the relative softness of the under-soul that touches the road. You probably should buy Birk's with a view to having them re-souled at some point. It should come into your buying decision. If you drag your feet when you walk, which many of us do, expect a quicker soul wear down. I'd imagine if you didn't wear them a lot you'd get a few years out of one soul. I wouldn't necessarily change my walk to try to prevent wear-down, but it's something to keep in mind. Chaco's may be the better option if you're looking for a Teva style sandal as they are more hard wearing and the footbed looks more shapely. But, again, you'd need to like those straps. Birk's are better looking.
      All depends on what you value most. My previous/current sandals were cheap, velcro straps and lasted me some years (RedFish; they look like Regetta), but the day of a cheap sandal lasting a long time may be behind us. Or it may not. I only noticed recently that both my cheap sandals have been broken probably for a long while across the entire way 1/3 of the way from the front of the sandal, but because of the footbed material I never noticed. I'm actually still wearing them like this and they haven't fallen off yet. I even drive in them like this. They are somehow not falling apart. I don't know if this is a warning or a selling point for buying cheap rugged-esque sandals, haha.

    • @rompo
      @rompo  Před 2 lety

      Haven't tried getting it wet yet but I don't think the foot bed lining is waterproof, but they sure could take a small splash then just dry it out.
