    Nice demo! I'm thinking about getting a Maverick and was curious how Sync3 works especially with SXM.

      Thanks Paul! SiriusXM on the Maverick would work very close to what you saw in this video. You need to make sure you're in the Lariat with the Lariat Technology Package to get it!

    Thanks Steve, this was really helpful, could you clarify if it will read test messages to you as you drive?

    What do I do if the CarPlay does not connect anymore, it was working fine but recently it won’t connect and I can’t find a way to fix it

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  Před 4 měsíci

      First thing to try would be a soft reboot. Just under the screen press and hold the volume power button and right seek button for 5-10 seconds until the screen turns off and then reboots.
      If that doesn't work, remove the phone from the vehicle and the vehicle connection from the phone's bluetooth. Then on your iPhone go to Settings --> General --> CarPlay, select your vehicle and Forget It. Then re-connect your phone over USB
      If that doesn't work you'll need to replace the USB cable

      @@CarsWithSteve in the second paragraph, the car icon popped back up on Spotify but the screen didn’t change on the ranger. I changed the usb cable,the screen stayed the same but I’ll try to get a third cable.

    Can you connect to Android auto without plugging the USB?

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  Před 2 lety +1

      Unfortunately not, strictly wired in the Sync3 screen

      Try this:
      1. Remove phone connection from the vehicle and vehicle connection from the phone
      2. Perform a soft reset --> Press and hold the left seek and radio power buttons for 5 - 10 seconds which should make the screen go black and reset after 1-2 mins
      3. Re-connect your phone

    Is there a way to scan or seek with AM or FM?
    Is there a way to use phone apps like All Trails on the screen?

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  Před rokem

      You'd think that there would be a scan button but unfortunately there isn't.. best you could do is press and hold the left/right button on the steering wheel to seek that way. Apps on screen are only based on what's available through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay and don't believe that the All Trails app is compatible. Something to message their development team about..
      Google Maps lets you download maps for offline use though.. so that could technically work

    Is there a reason why "Enable Mobile Apps" is greyed out? and which apps will show in the app section? I tried Spotify and nothing showed up there. Trying to not use usb if possible

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  Před rokem +3

      You need to be plugged in via USB for that section to become clickable. Certain apps, like Spotify, won't work via USB but you can play it when connected over bluetooth

      I believe there is compatibility for US models. We don't have that option north of the border unfortunately

      Did you try putting on some big boy pants and skip forward to the parts of the video that you need info for?
