I remember a very dark period in my life where I was lost, damaged , with no hope and nothing to live for,all of that changed when i finally got some rehab and got help.

I feel soo emotional everytime I hear and sing it, I feel soo connected since I've had a bestfriend pass not from drugs but I've been trying to warn him and even though he made some questionable decisions I felt every move he made, I miss him soo much but in heaven or whereever he is, I'll always have a memory of him, a guide for him, a place for him.
Loved this lost my homie to alcohol and meth bc of our junkie cousin. He crashed his whip and my bsf was the only one that was killed.
I lost my best freind in the navy we was in the Atlantic ocean and the ship we was on got hit by a torpedo and he lost his life after that I was never the same and he always has had a place in my heart

I just had my mom pass away two days ago and this song is really hard for me to listen to because she had struggled with addiction her whole life and when I finally thought she was getting better she had overdosed but she said she would always tell me if somthing was wrong that I was her rainbow and I was her reason to keep pushing but now she is gone and this song is all I got left of her.

Man. I had one friend that had my back during my battle with meth and cocaine. I seriously hope that every addict out there has a friend like this they can reach out to. It's a mean and dirty battle but it can be done 16 years sober and loving every day. Find a good friend and hold on to them. Loyalty is in short supply nowadays. Peace and love to all.
My best friend of 8 years sang parts of this song to me once, and i did the same for him. We go back and forth leaving the light on for each other and i couldn't be more grateful for anybody.

And this is just such a powerful song for when you've been in dark places and felt alone. What it speaks to-I truly don't how the heck I would've made it through the past few years without the aid of a few dear friends God blessed me with. They were often the main thing enabling me to cope and to feel like the painful experiences were worthwhile.
You really got to listen to the words to find out what he's talking about because it's so deep to those of you who don't understand. the lyrics are telling you that he had a friend that got on drugs and he/she is not the same and he wants he/her two stop the drugs and be his/her normal self

We used to listen to this song together and enjoy it, I've known him for 11 years. I have never thought or even imagined life without my brother it has never crossed my mind. He always left the light on, so do I, he passed away on the 19th of July, slept on my couch, and died peacefully, I still imagine him sitting on that couch, on the kitchen counter eating and everywhere in my house. We always hugged each other whenever we met, backed up each other, and always stood firmly as men, RIP my brother, I didn't lose you, neither did you lose me, I'll be the best version of myself just like you wanted to see me, 'till my time comes.

I swear. Hand to god, this is literally my life and my sisters. I would drive around at night, calling hospitals, jails, people she new, to see if she was there. I lost my best friend when she got addicted. She's a complete stranger but I always did and still do tell her to keep pushing forward. There's a light at the end and I'll be there once she gets through it. I send her this song and she heard it while on drugs and didn't really listen to it but then she listened to it again when she was going through something with her then boyfriend and she actually paid attention to the words. She is fighting through detox in rehab. I'm praying I get her back and that light I left on was enough to help her

Every time I hear this song all I can think about is the mistakes and harm that I have made and caused in my short time on this Earth and how much I wish the pain and regret would go away. Every day I have to give myself a reason to keep going on, but I'm running out of them, and I worry that I'll be gone come next year.
Update: I've finally made peace with my demons, and am in a happy relationship. She is my other half and to be honest life without her makes no sense.
