had a full training camp, and it was still an extremely close fight. Some people are even calling it a robbery that curtis should have won. I think if Brendan ever gets anywhere meaningful and chris curtis is still doing decent, we have a trilogy lined up (or the other way around too). I really hope they make this sean strickland vs brendan allen fight, as sean strickland is literally just chris curtis on crack with way better ground game too. Dont think allen has the best chances there.

This kid could be the dark horse of the division but needs to use fight IQ better. People need to realize that this kid lacked good 5 round experience and his body language at times was terrible but the kid could learn from this. Anyway, we need more grapplers at middleweight.

This was an exciting fight I was really impressed by both fighters. When someone takes a short notice fight, the fact that you had a shole camp does not change the fact that you are fighting a whole different person than you had been training for. The worst part is when your brain refuses to adjust to the new competitor - slightly shorter, stockier, better boxing ... it went as good as one could ask for Allen. Get well soon Chris Curtis
Storyline-wise, Strickland would make sense given that Curtis is one of his sparring partners, but he's got bigger fish to fry after that SD loss.

@@tcox07jackets I’d argue that Curtis didn’t do that much either; his best strike landed in the 2nd and it won him that round, but not the fight. I thought it was a great fight in which both athletes pretty much successfully kept each other from really getting their respective games going. Feels like it could go either way, but personally, I scored it for Allen. Close, but far from a robbery I’d say.

He was really lucky to not fight Marvin vettori, because against Curtis without any training camp, he did a very bad performance, and I don't know, how he won, against vettori with a training camp it will be a different end.
The middleweight division is almost as bad as heavyweight at this point easily the 2 worst divisions divisions in the UFC
