- My first species that I have been wanting to start breeding is the corydoras species. I have did research on breeding - spawning methods and have came up with a few breeding methods of my own that has been working for me. Keep in mind this may not work for you but it has given me results so I will continue to learn and develop a better way in this journey.

To all the UTube soo called experts. “ Oh you you need at least two mails per female!” Fish that are in good condition healthy and well cared for will do whatever they want. Personally I have never met a catfish that can or has read any book or list of rules of conduct.
If it works for your fish? It works period. Keep up and enjoy your fish.
Spoilchucker strikes again two males lol
Facts!
That set up is dope!
Thanks man! I was super excited setting it up. Im on a super tight budget so it def saved me money! Ty for checking out my channel! 🤜🤛
No hit me up with some of those Corey's when you get a chance. You could do some Trading if you're up for it
Awesome! Sounds like a plan bro.
Great video Roberto!
Ty mobb! I love my corydoras!
Very motivating, I like how you show it like it is!
thanks Scott this was at my early days on youtube I was so nervous lol
Its a great idea!!
Thank you!
Normally you can just do a cool water change but I guess ice could work too if its dechlorinated water that's being frozen
Thank you Shae! Yeah I use dechlorinated water for my ice and I’ve upgraded since this video was uploaded as well! I’ve learned a lot since then now I’m breeding panda corys and albinos.
Great information
Ty! I love my corydoras!
Also probably should add an air stone where the eggs are for slight water agitation so that the eggs don't build up bacteria and spoil
Yeah a few days after this video I started putting an air stone in a mason jar and the hatch rate doubled! You live and you learn! I must say you and many others are why I love this hobby. I’ve learn so much from people like you. I appreciate you taking the time out and helping me with advice and tips. Ty so much! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
@@RLCAquatics thank you so much for taking it for what it was (friendly advice) a lot of people tend to get defensive instead. So thankyou. The people are a big part of the reason I love this hobby too. You'll continue to learn the even when you're an expert :) keep up the good work 👌🏼
I put ice in the filter and do a heavy feed.
Dang you know what, I never thought of putting it in the actual filter! I also heavy feed all my corydoras species but I’m going to use your method placing the ice in the actual filter! Thank you 🤜🏻🤛🏻
What are your water parameters for this false julii tank?
Yup, cory trilineatus (you live and learn Mr. Taylor) this tank no longer exists however if I remember correctly it was at a 7. Ty for your time. 🤝
@@RLCAquatics Were you successful in breeding them? I was curious what your nitrates were at?
Yes I was Mr. Taylor I have a video I made before i found out that they were not julli of me starting a colony. I will be doing another update on the Corys and future plans this weekend. I need to start recording the nitrate levels due to many people asking. Im still new to the breeding and learning every day so please forgive me. 🤝
@@philliptaylor5981 why are you curious what the nitrates are ? Just keep them low enough to breed. They don't breed ? next time a bigger water change (preferable with cooler water). Using some tricks makes breeding corydoras rather simple (i'm not talking about the wild caught ones, which can be very hard to breed)... I breed different types of corydoras and fish in general, and don't measure nitrates, i use that time to do an extra waterchange (and lower the nitrates). They still won't breed ? Use a lot of live food and let them do their think. Don't mess with your tank too often. Only think to keep in mind : some cory's breed and immediately eat their own eggs. Watch them when they are in breeding modus. Corydoras paleatus are known to eat their eggs, and i can confirm that from my own experiences.
Nice tip 👍
Thanks bud!
You ain’t crazy, but you could also leave the heater off (if you use one)
I’m here because my Corydoras laid last night, I did a water change two days ago, left the heater off till the evening by accident, and now they have laid eggs, so the water temp drop must really set them off. Only problem is, i have one female trilineatus and 4 pandas, I’m not sure they will hatch
Yeah different things work for different people. I’ve herd about people leaving a heater in the aquarium and then removing it completely after a water change
Jeez, so long to get into it...
My apologies 🤝 still learning this youtube thing. Ill try to be quicker for you next time.
If it works then it’s all good brah
Yessir! Momma said if it’s not broke don’t fix it! 😂 thanks for stopping by the channel bro! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
RLC Aquatics
Yeah man I’ve also been trying to get them to breed so I moved them and put them in a breeder tank and I drop ice like u and they seems to like it a lot we’ll see thanks for the tip
No it works but you should dechlorinate the ice. Great video though
Thank you so much! Yeah this was an old video I have a totally diff method. Thank you so much for stopping by the channel! 🤝
um
These are corydoras trilineatus not julii
Just want to take the time out to say ty for correcting me and you did it in a way without being negative! We need more like you on this platform.... 🤝
RLC Aquatics np, if you don’t know you don’t know 👍
@@fishgeek well thanks to you now I know. 🤜🤛
@@RLCAquatics trilineatus are often sold as jullii, because jullii is more rare, a bit more difficult to breed, and therefore more expensive. The wholesaler or LFS knows he got trilineatus, but still sells them as jullii, just to make more profit.... and/or LFS / clients don't know the difference themselve... . That's the reason a lot of people think trilineatus is a jullii. its not difficult to see the difference when you know where to look (the linings on the head versus spots). I always report this in LFS's when they are labeled incorrectly. They rarely change the label afterwards. And so everybody thinks a trilineatus is a jullii. A false jullii does not exist, it's a trilineatus, .. it's only the wholeseller who is false :)
Umm....ummm...ummmm
Ummm
I was new and nervous on CZcams at that time. (Growth) 😉 thank you for visiting the channel 🤜🏼🤛🏻
