The video begins with an announcement where we’d say we’ll be providing 2 Infinix Smart 8 HD phones as giveaway. We then say let’s unbox the phone but skip the unboxing part saying there’s nothing very specific about it. We then say the brand says the phone has features which are first in the segment.
The phone’s review begins with the display. We say the phone’s display is 6.6 inches with 90Hz refresh rate. This combination makes it the first in the segment to have it. It has HD resolution. It has NEG glass for protection. Most phones for Rs. 10,000 will have waterdrop notch. But Infinix Smart 8 HD has a punch hole. The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted. Both these features are first in the segment. We say the brand calls the display a sunlight readable display with 500 nits brightness. We then show the viewers the shadow and reflection the display causes. The display is good but not great as how they hype it. We then talk about Redmi 13 C having waterdrop notch and bezels on its sides. We say the phone is good compared to that. We say the display is ok for the budget and the brand has tried to do something new.
We then move the design segment. It begins with asking a colleague about the design. We’d say the design looks similar to iPhone. We’d also take out an iPhone and place both phones side by side showing it on camera for the audience. The colleague then asks what brand is the phone. We say it’s the Infinix Smart 8 HD. The design looks but similar to iPhone but the texture is good. The phone has 3 colour variant options. The blue and gold variant phone is shown to the audience. The phone feels handy. We say the dynamic island feature in the punch hole is a unique one. It’s called the magic ring and is first in the segment. When there’s not enough charge, when we charge the phone, when calls pop up or when face unlock is used it pops like dynamic island. It something new since it’s something seen only in iPhones. We then say it’d be better if they don’t copy iPhone’s design. People who can’t afford iPhone can buy it and feel comfort in it. The design is good but the phone feels a bit heavy.
We then talk about hardware starting with its 5000mAh battery with 10W charging support. Charging will take a long time but the battery will last for a longer time because of the SOC. Usually, Infinix will brand it really well on the back cover but isn’t visible enough this time. Once has look close to see it. With a case ON we can say people that it’s an iPhone. iPhone is a bit heavier than this.
It has 13MP main camera and AI camera. It has something called quad flash. It looks similar to ring light and makes it look exactly like an iPhone. The camera for the budget is good. Photos look good. It has good colour and contrast although the details aren’t very great. We say it’s good under this budget. It can record 1080p videos with 30fps. We say the videos looks average and is not up to the mark. The video then shows us taking a selfie. The photo looks quite ok. We then discuss about weather playing a role in it. Dynamic range is something not to expect for the budget. It has Unisoc T606 as the SOC. We say the brand covers it up saying it has 2 lakh+ AnTuTu score and is first in the segment.
The phone can be used for making calls, listening to music, Whatsapp and basic gaming. They’ll somehow manage it with the software. It has something called social turbo. You can use it record audio and video calls in Whatsapp. Like all Infinix phones it has the toolbox and AI features. We say they’d use the price as a shield for everything. It has LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.0. The highest variant has 6GB and 64GB internal storage. It also has the Virtual RAM support. Memory card up to 2TB can be used. It has a dedicated slot for it along with 2 SIM card slots. We say in general brands promise support up 1 or 2 TB and should make a video testing it. We say the hardware is quite ok apart from the SOC. It’s an unknown SOC. We say the brand uses it to call it first in the segment.
We then move to the price of the phone. We ask multiple people to guess the price of the phone. They guess it to be between Rs.8,000 and Rs. 12,000. The phone costs Rs. 5,700. We show people surprised by the price and what they feel about it. A few say it’ll suit elders at home and is good for the price.
