    If sunrise photography wasn't hard enough, try throwing vlogging into the mix whilst taking images. Not easy my friends.
    On this beautiful Easter weekend, I made my way down to the beach at Thornham to grab some shots for sunrise. Despite my moaning, I did manage to capture a few images that I think are worthy of printing.
    I also met up with a fellow vlogger and friend, Jamie Overland and so please check out Jamies channel, he really is one of life's good guys.

    Once again a cracking vlog with images that seemed to get better and better through the vlog. Wonderful colours picked out in the reflections on the sand. My favourite of them all was the grasses in the sand. Thanks again for the vlog Darren.

      Hi Deryck,
      I’m really pleased you liked the 2nd image with the marram grass.
      I was unsure on that image as I didn’t know if the sky complemented it and so I thought I’d wait to hear what you guys thought of it and so I’m really pleased you picked that image out.
      You’ve restored my faith in myself 😉
      Thanks for watching bud 👍

      I was convinced I was on the wrong side of the grasses (which I was of course), but the image came out far better than expected and it’s been the most commented on image of the video.
      Thanks for watching mate and I hope you have a great Sunday.

    You have hit a rich seam, keep digging the pastel gold. Lovely shots, started to get a real feel of 70's warmth ( I know, you're too young to remember them).
    Have you thought about getting some vintage glass on the front of your camera and starting to shoot the mood; it's a whole different world of image making?

    • @DarrenKnightPhoto
      @DarrenKnightPhoto  Před 5 lety

      I remember more of the 70’s than you’d think Iain 😉
      I’m not 100% sure what you mean about vintage glass. Is that a particular type of lens or just an older lens?
      Either way I’ll probably stick with the equipment I have, although I need to buy a wider lens soon to replace my 14mm prime, that I part ex’d a few months back.
      Have a good Sunday mate

      Largely just glass for film cameras. Usually cheap online. I shoot more film for fun/experimentation and started making the crossover with adapters. I've never really been a pixel-peeker, so some swirly bokeh and natural vignettes are all an added bonus.
      Was going for a long walk with a camera today but the weather report is wrong again and the sky is dishwater grey..oh well maybe tomorrow!

    Great vlog mate, and a couple of outstanding images in my opinion. I really liked the pastel colours in the shot at 7:32 and what a great spot for the image at 14:29, I think it shows what a good photographer you are to even see that image in the first place :-)

      I’m really enjoying the pastel colours at the moment and I processed the 1st image as if I was going to print it. I could have been tempted to lift the saturation on the orange reflections, but I wanted to keep it subtle.

Tom Peters will have me for infringement lol....I had a cracking morning down by the creek and it was great to catch up over a coffee and bacon butty, really enjoyed it. I even think I came away with an image which could be in my top 3 favourites of all shots I've taken! The beach this morning was a washout. Neither Owen or I vlogged, but we had a good catch up and I think I managed to get 1 image that has potential.

    Some lovely images this week Darren - and a nice mix! I particularly liked the sunrise shots with those beautiful pastel-y oranges and pinks... stunning colours. I keep saying I'm going to make it over to the Norfolk beaches one weekend, but being from the north west (the same town as Amir Khan as it happens haha), Norfolk is a bugger to get to!

      I’m really enjoying the pastel colours at the moment as I think it can give a really nice feel to an image.
      I have to be honest, I struggled on the Norfolk coast for a while, but I’m starting to really enjoy it now. I was back on the beach today, but the conditions didn’t really make for a video.
      Gutted khan lost, although deep down I knew he would. Crawford is just so good.

    Good morning, you got some fabulous shots. I particularly liked the grass and the coal shed. On the grass shot, as you were waiting for the grass to be illuminated I would have been tempted to put the tripod lower and have dark silhouettes against the sky.
    Why are you so anti footprints? Are they really so detrimental to a composition? Have a great weekend 👌📷☕

    • @DarrenKnightPhoto
      @DarrenKnightPhoto  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Heather I hope you’re well.
      Fair point about the tripods position, however once I’d taken the 1shot (the sky), I couldn’t move the tripod until I’d taken the 2nd shoot, which was approximately 10-15 mins after the 1st, as I needed to blend the 2 together.
      Having said that, I could have moved lower after the 2nd shot I suppose.
      Footprints:-
      It depends on the footprints. Lone footprints in pristine sand can look beautiful, but loads of footprints from snotty nosed kids, who in my opinion shouldn’t be allowed on the beach (That’s why we made Xboxes and fast food for), can look a bit messy and distracting (in my humble opinion). 😉
      Thanks for watching and I hope you’re enjoying your Saturday 👋
