I think the trick is to not dress down your suit with something casual but to dress up your casual fit with a suit. And this is done by wearing the right suit material and cut. Something less rigid and not English, for example

Those are all great looks! For everyone thinking they won't look good in these fits: Tailoring is KING! Many outfits don't work on people If they are not tailored the right way. I advise buying less clothes and spending a little on simple tailoring. Your denim jeans will look so much better, same goes for jackets and overalls.
i've been collecting a bunch of dress shirts over the last year and have fallen in love; before, i thought that dress/button up shirts were really stuffy and boring 'till i got my hands on a oversized variant, it's a space grey color with long sleeves, if it's summer time then the sleeves are rolled up,shirt tucked in with a belt, i'm wearing my vintage Seiko, pleated loose straight fit trousers, keeping it casual with a pair of custom white vans slip-ons, and to top everything off: my dad's old T-Force pair of sunglasses (they're like a semi-aviator type, but a little slimmer and covers your FOV really well)
I'm on board with all of these but the sweater. Not for any aesthetic reasons, just because I sweat to death in a sweater OR a suit. Pretty sure I'll pass out and die of heat stroke if I try wearing them both together, lol. 😅
Yeah I'm wondering if I'd have to dry clean my suit every other time I wore it because I'd be worried about sweat quickly turning it funky. At least with long-sleeve collared shirts, I can throw them in the washer and hold off on cleaning the suitcoat. 🤷♂️

i usually go with a long sleeve plaid shirt that isn't super heavy. gives a bit of a pattern as opposed to a solid dress shirt.
