On the UK version they are always pressuring them to up their budget. They gave her one dress that was extremely plain probably trying to make her think all dresses under her budget are like that when I've seen plenty of beautiful dresses well under $2,000.

Normally it is the US one that is more pressuring, but I think it has kinda changed this year
Probably because these shops that do this show in the UK don't do budget dresses. Most of them are expensive and you have to go to different shops. My budget is under £1000 and I am really limited to where I can go.
The reason they pressure you for a higher budget because these sales person is working for a fat commission.

The US version is much better. In the UK version, they are *always* telling the brides to up their budget even when it's unnecessary
but in this case , i think she did need to increase the budget for the bling she wanted😂

The second dress she tried on (with the straps) was awful! She was right - it did make her look bigger (and she's not big at all!)

It's probably just that she's petite and the bodice is cut for a much longer torso. If you can imagine that neckline and waistline coming down 3" on her it would be a very different look.

Im getting tired of SYTTD UK because they are always presuring everyone to increase their budget. I'm sure they're making commission off of the dresses they sell and just want a bigger pay, or else they wouldn't keep pressing the brides to increase their budget.
Daisy R you can’t have a fabulous dress with expensive fabric/embroidery AND a cheap price tag. If you want cheap, settle for less. There’s just as many on SYTTD who found their dream dress way under budget.
I work in a bridal store too and I see customers like this all the time. They want the expensive bling without the pricetag. If you really want all that bling bling you have to pay for it. I see nothing wrong with them telling the customers that what they are looking for is going to cost more. If they don't want to pay the price for the bling then buy the simple dress within the budget and go buy gems and bling the dress up yourself.
Well they can't really do anything about the prices in UK. If you want something special it cost. UK have less to pick so alot less types and designers that make cheaper ones.

Sadly people either need to lower expectations or increase budget. I lowered my expectations and bought a second hand gown - worked perfectly for me. But we're all different.

I was at MeiKee’s wedding and she had lots of different princessey dresses for it. She wore a pink one similar to the first dress with a gemmed belt which in my opinion was my favourite dress ☺️

To have so much crystal and sparkle and detail will cost a lot more. Being realistic is telling the bride that if they want that sparkle they gotta pay more

The first dress was lower than the bride's low end price point so there would have been no reason to say they had to go up in price to get what the bride wanted. They should have started with a dress about mid-range in her pricing. If she was willing to go to 2, why start with a dress that cost less than 1? It's like they were trying to fit her story into their plan for the episode.

Oh my, her sudden cry. That is exactly how I suddenly reacted. XD my mom and the consultand Were talking about the price and the great fit and I was staring at the mirror like a rock and then suddenly, BOOM tears. I could not stop and stand straight. And the seller just: wait what? She was like a politician a second ago what happend. And my mom: yeaaah... There is that little girl, that she keeps in the closet most of the time, I guess she is buying this dress we can stop searching. (Im sorry for the spelling I somehow cant change my phone from german to english spelling check) oh, and I also doubled the budget. But from 500, to 1000€.

I had a dream dress that I couldn’t find at any of the shops around my area, so I went to the best salon nearby and they came very close to matching my dream. I still wasn’t feeling “definite” on it though, so I did research and found a salon about an hour away that sold a bunch of designers that I had enjoyed dresses from. I didn’t expect to find anything though because it was like Carolina Herrera and other high end designers at the time. They even had tiaras that had real pearls and Swarovski crystals that could be made into a necklace when you were done wearing them as tiaras.
The bridal consultant, who I will never forget because she was so lovely, took one look at my dream dress and said, “we just got that one in today!” And brought it over and some similar styles. My mom was not convinced, and then I tried it on, and EVERYONE started crying. My mom turned bright red trying to hold it in, the consultant was smearing her mascara...it was hilarious and touching and I still chuckle about it.

I love hearing accents, especially when they tell a story. She definitely has a Chinese Scottish accent, and that I would speculate she moved to the UK when she was under 10 years old. Her two Chinese bridesmaids have not been in the the UK as long (the older one is likely married to a non-asian), but her Vietnamese bridesmaid sounds like she probably was born in England.
The first dress that was under budget could have worked. It could have been embellished with a belt. Another option would be to put the “extra” funds towards some great jewelry. The dress she chose is lovely & doesn’t need much accessorizing. Plus, it made her really happy.
Okay she could’ve gotten the first one and gotten a diamond belt and it would’ve gave her that “sparkle”. And if that still wasnt enough she couldve got an appliqué. I cant stand how they push you to spend more money.

UK gowns are boring!! For 2k you can find a lot better in Asia... specially in Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Philippines there are young fashion designers that offers more glam dress but cheaper the price... I actually bought my gown for my Las Vegas wedding in the Philippines and bought one from Indonesia for the beach wedding and I can say both gowns are more stunning and cheaper than that in this show
