The Raag Tilak kamod itself is sweet like honey. On top of it the beautiful rendering by the legend ! It couldn't be any less than ambrosia.

May she rest in peace. Tilak Kamod, as a very novice listener of Indian Classical Music, is amongst my favorite raags and this rendition always transports me to some divine place. Her voice will live on forever even if she is no more. I am extremely saddened by her passing but this is amongst the many of her recordings that will keep her alive!

I find myself listening to this whenever I am lost or down in the dumps. Today is one such day. While there are tears in the eyes, Tai's soulful alaaps are comforting me, her rendition of 'Sakal Dukh Haran' is reassuring me. Tai really was the "empress of all melodies", a benediction for countless maladies...

This bandish was made immortal by Surashree Kesarbai Kerkar, as usual, with a tight, compact, glittering presentation. Kishoriji tries to match the raga to her voice in this presentation, more elaborating, softer, slower rendition. No comparison intended, only personal concept of the raagdari.
