The violin solo sounds like a variation of Schindler's List theme. It's hard to say the COH2 theme was not inspired by John Williams.
Company of Heroes 2 does have the most epic soundtracks a game can have. No game ever had such a soundtrack I could listen to everyday.

Am I the only one that listens to this and imagines watching a timeline of the Eastern Front, with this track summing up the Soviet perspective perfectly?
The opening is the Germans swift advance into the Soviet heartland, nearly unstoppable during Operation Barbarossa. Then by 2:20, is when the Soviets effectively counter the German offensive and the war changes hands. The Soviets are pushing Germany (and allies) back out of Russia and into Germany itself.
This track perfectly sums up the Eastern Front for me. It was horrific, bloody, and disheartening for both sides.
War is Hell.
For me its kinda different. I see like people sitting in a bombed City after the War realizing what we all have done to ourselves and then the part of the coming cold war armament. But i guess its different for everybody at that point.
War isn't Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse.

I could cry when i hear this. Especially after the release of COH3, because COH3 just ruined the franchise forever and when i hear this song i just think back to how simple and perfect COH used to be.
If the community can pull together like we did for CoH2, then I think we can prevent further damage from happening.

To me this best captures the story of the aftermath of the sudden Nazi attack into the homeland.
0:00 All is lost, much of the Soviet army is routed or annihilated and the Nazis are on the doorstep of Moscow.
0:35 These short build ups at the beginning tell of the attempted resistance by the Soviet army in the battle of Moscow against the Nazi incursion which were ultimately defeated.
1:13 In the ashes and smoke, all seems lost. The last survivors and civilians see the carnage and it seems that total defeat is inevitable. Is this the end of the dream that was the Communist paradise?
1:29 The answer is no. They refuse to believe that this will be the end. They've worked so hard to create this motherland they have decided they will fight for it till the bitter end rather than see it tarnished by the Nazis even if it means death.

i feel the early part is too come to be already at war, rather the people is at peace, then slowly there is a stir in air , and people began the march to war slowly at first, you can tell because there is a deep sorrow in this part, but by 2:20 there is full mobilization, and by 3:10 we gone back to the sorrow that was in 1:20. But this time it is different this time there is sorrow and regard. and lastly at 3: 24 we get and hint of a faint but rapidly fading glory.
I won a 1v4 (3 left my team in the very beggining) match by just attempting to troll and got 7 engineer squads, captured lots of points. Based bots built caches. Ultimately won. I have the replay. I couldn't stop laughing.

Truly reflects the complete inhumane nature of the Eastern front on both sides and the only true Victor's of war are those who survive not those who won
Not sure if I'd call it even a victory to survive, I can imagine some soldiers wanting to die after what they've witnessed. Just my two cents.

He says.Thats only a poor bastard having the WORST time of his life) And shoots the guy right next to the violonist.While he is still playing,other soldiers kill eachothers but no one touches the violonist,why? Because each sides knows why he's doing this and no one dares to interrupt him.Thats how i imagine a video clip of this theme song.

Back here after 1 year anniversary of CoH 3. Third game is just simply a joke. Coh 2 was prime experience if it's going on coh saga. The brutal and dirty atmosphere of the eastern front offset the big disadvantage of OP commanders for real money.
