मेंहदी तो बाद में आई। उससे पहले भी ऐसा ही पिगमेंट लगाते थे। हाथों में और पैरों में।
मेंहदी कदाचित् आयुर्वेदिक उपचार के लिए प्रयोग होती थी और कदाचित् उसके रंग को देखकर पेईंट या पिगमेंट के बदले मेंहदी का चलन आया।

Dupatta is not ancient Indian culture. We were so free from ghunghat and dupatta. You can see any oldest temple like tiruanantpuram, ajintha werul leni etc. There were no restriction in our ancient India on women that they should cover there face . We were have so rich culture with equal rights to women. But this akraman changes a lot. We have to hide our women . Sad but true
It's just because of invasions. Women in south india still don't cover their heads like ancient times.

Dupatta was very much there. In the beginning of this video they have split the word and explained the meaning as well. Guess what you are highlighting is usage of dupatta as a veil. That happened gradually but Dupatta has been there since ages.
